Keewatin Tribal Days Men’s Hockey Tournament C.A. Nesbitt and Gordon Beard Arenas Thompson, Manitoba March 3-5, 2017 Tournament Format: Two Divisions, Single Round Robin Top two teams from each division advance to playoffs Tournament Rules: All MAHA rules apply with the following exceptions: 1. No body checking 2. No slap shots 3. No red line in effect 4. No stick measurements 5. The following will lead to immediate disqualification for the tournament: o Major Penalty (ie: fighting, spearing, intent to injure, etc.) o Under the influence of drugs or alcohol 6. Referee decision is FINAL. If referees are harassed, the tournament director has the right to step in and the team will have to forfeit the game. 7. Must have 5 players from community Player’s Eligibility: Senior teams will be allowed one under age player with PARENTS consent as a liability waiver in writing. (KTC will NOT be held responsible for any injuries on a KTC member: Barren Lands, Bunibonibee, Fox Lake, God’s Lake, Manto Sipi, Northlands, Sayisi Dene, Tataskweyak, War Lake and York Landing) Must be 18 years of age or older and be able to provide proof of status Names not appearing on the 1st game sheet or players not dressed for the first 2 games will not be eligible for the rest of the tournament All players are only eligible to play in one event Goalies will be permitted to play for other teams if a team needs a goalie. However, the goalie must be in the right age category Games: All games to be (2) – 20 minutes straight time period with the last minute to be stop time. The third period will be 15 minutes stop time. Should a team not have a goalie and five (5) skaters at the start of the game, the clock will start to run. One goal will be awarded when the clock starts and at the five (5) minute mark another goal will be added and when the total reaches three (3) goals, the game will be forfeited. The game will be considered and 8-0 loss. Mercy rules – 8-goal spread game over – after 2 periods. Overtime: No overtime in round robins Overtime in Playoffs: Five (5) minute (stop time), sudden death 4 on 4 If still a tie, there will be a shoot-out, three (3) shooters. If still tied, shooter from each team until a winner is determined. (Shooter can shoot again after three shooters have shot) Tie Breaker (Round Robin) Winner of game between tied teams, winner moves on If still tied, team with most wins moves on If still tied, highest amount of plus minus If still tied, the team who scored the first goal in the game against each other. If more than two teams are tied it will be the team with the most first goals. If still tied, least amount of penalty minutes If still tied, flip a coin All protest will be $200.00 and must be filed no later than 10 minutes after game. Committee member’s decision will be final. There will be no refund for protests.
