Grade Level: 6-8
Standards: M.TG.08.02, K.IG.08.02

Lesson Overview: Students will demonstrate proper Frisbee throwing technique during an Ultimate
Frisbee Game.
How to play Ultimate Frisbee
In teams of 7 or 8, students will move the Frisbee up the court using proper throwing and catching
technique with their teammates. In order to score, a teammate must catch the Frisbee inside the
designated goal. If at anytime the other team intercepts the Frisbee or the Frisbee hits the ground because
of an incomplete pass, it is the other team’s possession. That team then attempts to make it down to their
goal by completing passes and catching Frisbee in the end zone.
Students will break up into teams of 7 or 8
Students will play 3 minute games and then rotate. The team ahead at 3 minutes is considered the
winning team.
Closure: Review cues for throwing and catching as well as rules to the game.

How to play Baseball Frisbee Game
The class will be split up into 4 even teams
The teacher will be the all time pitcher.
There will be a team “up to bat”. This team will be on bleachers in back row, behind home plate in their
“batting” order. There will also be a team in the field. The remaining 2 teams will be on the opposite
side bleachers sitting in back row waiting to play.
Game starts by pitcher throwing a Frisbee to the “batter”. The “batter” must catch the Frisbee. If they
drop the Frisbee, it is considered a strike and they are out (unless it was a bad throw; this will be
determined by adult). Once the “batter” catches it they then throw it into the field. This is their “bat”. If
they throw it foul, they are out. Once the throw is made, they run to first base. The fielder; fields it just
like in baseball. They can get the person out by throwing the Frisbee to the base and the fielder catches
the Frisbee with foot on base before runner gets their (for force outs)
The entire team “bats” and the runs are tallied. Once all team has “batted” the teams switch infield and
outfield. Once both teams have “batted”, the team with the most runs wins.
Closure: Review cues for throwing and catching as well as rules to the game.
