(For more information on DOIs, go to www.doi.org ). “The DOI is typically located on the first page of the electronic journal article, near the copyright notice,” but can also be found “on the database landing page for the article.” For citation purposes, “we recommend that when DOIs are available, you include them for both print and electronic sources.” Also, “in general, it is not necessary to include database information” when citing journal articles from databases.
