Students completing the Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Multicultural Education, Birth-3rd Grade Teacher Concentration at Central
New Mexico Community College can apply those credits and courses directly toward the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Multicultural
Education at New Mexico Highlands University.

Upon completion of the coursework prescribed within this transfer agreement, students will have earned an A.A. in Early Childhood
Multicultural Education, Birth-3rd Grade Teacher Concentration, guaranteed admissions to NMHU, classified as a junior, complete
appropriate prerequisites for Junior standing in the B.A. in Early Childhood Multicultural Education degree program, and have the NMHU
institutional Physical Education and Language Competency core requirements waived.

In addition, the remaining requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Multicultural Education can be completed at NMHU’s

Major. All Early Childhood Multicultural Education students must confer with an ECME Advisor in selecting the Major.
Minor. Early Childhood Multicultural Education is a comprehensive Major. No Minor is required.
NES (National Evaluation Series). Students must pass the Essential Academic Skills section of the NES to be admitted to the
School of Education. Students must pass the NES Teacher Competency Early Childhood to receive New Mexico Teacher
Licensure in Early Childhood Education (Not required for graduation). Students are encouraged to take GNED 210 Test
Preparation.
