at least 18 years of age. CNM does not
charge an admission application fee.
Thank you for your interest in attending Central
New Mexico Community College! This packet
contains basic information to help you enroll at
CNM. For more information visit the
Admissions Office at any CNM campus, call our

at cnm.edu. Consult the CNM Catalog for a full
description of program requirements and CNM
policies.
Along with this packet, you may need
information trom the CNM Catalog and ITom the
Schedule of Classes for the term in which you
plan to enroll. They are available online at
cnm.edu.
CNM does not issue FI or MI international student visas
(I-20s).

beyond CNM's admission

You do not have to declare a program (major)
to attend CNM, but if you intend to:
check the CNM Catalog Programs of Study section for program
entrance requirements, prerequisites, program tees,
recommended sequence of courses and more, and
check the program for financial aid eligibility.
Apply for Financial Aid if needed; verify your status after 10
business days in mycnm.

online student account at http://portal.cnm.edu.
Registration and
other important information will be sent to your myCNM
student email address.
HINT: Store your student ID number and myCNM user name in your cell
phone address book!
Residencv Check your myCNM account for your residency
status for tuition purposes.
Meet prerequisites.
Some courses require minimum English,
math and reading scores (check the CNM Catalog regarding the
course you want to take). You can meet prerequisites by taking
CNM's Accuplacer exam, submitting official ACT/SAT scores
to Admissions, or transfer credit trom another college by
submitting an official transcript.
Orientation.
New and returning students must complete an
online orientation before registering for classes.
Advisement.
See a CNM Academic Advisor for help
interpreting your assessment scores or selecting the courses you
want to take (mandatory for Beginning Freshmen).
Plan your schedule. The CNM Catalog has a
recommended sequence of courses for all programs.

College & Career Bound students must submit an approval &
registration form each term. Home schooled students must
submit proof your program is registered with NMPED.
Dual Credit students must submit a signature page showing
program approval by a high school official and parent (if a
minor) at time of admission.
Dual Credit students should see your high school counselor or
other official for a textbook charge form prior to purchasing
textbooks.

declaring or changing majors. The department also provides
career resource rooms at Main and Montoya campuses.

Provides a variety of job search services and support to
students and graduates, including online job listings and

workshops, on-campus recruitment activities. and more.
Provides a variety of resources designed to meet the
information needs of students. faculty and staff and
community patrons. The libraries serve as the major
information resource for CNM and provide library services
necessary to support the college's mission. Library catalogs,
full-text articles ITom magazines, journals and newspapers
and an electronic reference service are available online.
Information regarding safety issues on campus. including
biohazards. Material Safety Data Sheets and other issues
facing the public daily.
Assists students with physical, mental, learning, visual,
speech or hearing disabilities. Career counseling, program
planning, classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment,
coordination with community support agencies and
specialized learning plans are available.

Helps participants graduate from a CNM program and as
appropriate transfer to a four-year college or university.
Interested students must apply for a limited amount of spaces.
To be eligible, students must belong to one or more of the
following categories: income eligible, first-generation college
student and/or have a documented disability.

all CNM campuses Individual and small-group learning
assistance is offered. Certified tutors are available to help
students in a variety of subjects, free of charge.
