Amendment/Addendum #3 to T-2852 “Mechanical System Water Treatment”.
This addendum becomes part of the Contract Documents.
Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum in the space provided on
page 14, Section E.1.
Changes, Additions and Clarifications as follows:
QUESTION: What is the tonnage of refrigeration of each of the cooling tower systems?
ANSWER: SEE ATTACHMENT
QUESTION: What months of the year does each cooling tower system operate?
ANSWER: SEE ATTACHMENT
QUESTION: Please clarify whether the closed loops, geothermal loops, and glycol loop are to be
tested twice per month or once per month.
ANSWER: TEST ONCE PER MONTH
QUESTION: Are the closed loops, geothermal loops, and glycol loop to be tested only during
operation (circulation) or every month?
ANSWER: TEST ONCE PER MONTH
QUESTION: What is the glycol concentration required by the equipment manufacturer?
ANSWER: 35%
QUESTION: The way the bid is written the water treatment contractor is required to maintain
corrosion inhibitor and/or glycol in the closed loops when fluid is lost from the systems. What
exclusions to this requirement are there if a system leaks? It is unreasonable to expect the water
treatment contractor to maintain corrosion inhibitor and glycol concentration no matter how
much each system leaks.
ANSWER: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY CNM WHENEVER A LEAK IS
OBSERVED IN ANY OF THE SYSTEMS COVERED UNDER THIS CONTRACT. CNM
WILL ADDRESS THE LEAK WITHIN FOURTEEN DAYS. IF THE LEAK PERSISTS, CNM

WILL REIMBURSE THE CONTRACTOR FOR THE COST OF ADDITIONAL WATER
TREATMENT CHEMICAL REQUIRED TO RETURN SYSTEM TO NORMAL LEVELS OF
CONCENTRATION.
QUESTION: #22-Main Campus Condenser. Is this a cooling tower system or closed loop?
