CENTRAL NEW MEXICO COMMUNITY COLLEGE ECONOMIC IMPACT Business Perspective CNM Raises Consumer Spending • CNM employed 1,235 full-time and 1,133 part-time faculty and staff in the 2010-11 reporting year, with an annual payroll of $92.6 million. • In addition to payroll, CNM spent $74.9 million in FY 201011 for supplies and services, of which an estimated 49% was spent in the CNM Service Area. • CNM estimates that approximately 15% of its students come from outside the CNM Service Area. Non-local students who settle in the region spend money at local businesses for food, transportation, and other personal expenses. CNM Generates New Income • The net added income generated by CNM operations ($79.8 million) and the spending of non-local students ($38.5 million) contributes a total of $118.3 million in income to the CNM Service Area economy each year.
