CNM Finance Self-Service Performing an Encumbrance Query Encumbrance Query in 5 Easy Steps 1) Log in to MyCNM 2) Select Finance Tab 3) Select Finance Self-Service link 4) Select Encumbrance Query 5) Enter Organization Number and Other Optional Query Criteria Logging into CNM Finance Self-Service Go to the CNM homepage (www.cnm.edu) Click on the MyCNM button Log in using your CNM User Name and Password Select Finance tab at top of the screen Click on Finance Self-Service link Select Encumbrance Query The Finance Menu contains the following options: The Encumbrance Query feature of Finance Self-Service allows users to review outstanding encumbrance-related information. Encumbrance: Funds committed for future payments (e.g. Purchase/Blanket Orders). Set Query Parameters Required Fields = Fiscal year and fiscal period (recommended setting is fiscal period = 14 to pick up all activity including adjustments in a fiscal year), Chart of Accounts = 1, Organization must be populated. Encumbrance status and commitment type should be set to "All" to display all transactions. Using Buttons to Lookup Codes The field labels for the query page also function as code lookup buttons. If you do not know the appropriate value for that field, either leave it blank or click the button to find the appropriate value. The wildcard (%) can be used in these fields. Click on Execute Query. Executing Query Reading Your Query Results Depending on the criteria that was entered, encumbrance information results will populate. You can view additional information by clicking on anything that is highlighted in blue. Drilling Down Into A Query Below is an Encumbrance Query drill down for a chosen Document Code in the report parameters. Detailed information that may be viewed includes paid invoices, purchase document revisions, and check disbursement reference.
