HSE/GED and English as a Second Language
Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses help
students prepare for the GED/HiSET exam or
learn English as a second language. The ABE
program offers instruction to adults who do not
have their high school diploma and to adults
who do not speak English as their first language.
The fee is $10.00 per academic year.
All students must first attend an orientation and
take a placement test to determine their reading,
math, language or English levels.
There is no online registration for ABE. To
register for ABE orientation, bring the following
with you to one of the ABE office locations:
• A photo ID that includes your birth date
(state driver’s license, state ID card, visa,
or passport)
• Your current address
• Your current phone number
• $10 fee (payable by cash, check, debit or credit
card)
• If you are 16 or 17 years of age, an underage
