Note on Math Foundation Course:
• The first course students take in their Math Sequence is based
on placement or prior credit. All incoming freshmen are required
to take the MPE. (now online)
• MAT 100 (2 credits) DOES NOT fulfill a core requirement. May be
applied towards electives.
• MAT 103/103A DOES NOT fulfill Core. May be applied towards
electives.
• MAT 102 satisfies Math requirement for most Dyson majors.
Note: To determine the appropriate math course, consult the Math
Sequence Chart and Flow Chart provided.
Science Majors and Math Placement Policy:
• Science majors (BIO, CHEM, BCH, Pre-Professional Tracks, FS,
PHY) must place into Pre-Calculus (MAT 130), in order to take
BIO 101 and CHEM 111.
• BIO 101, CHEM 111 and MATH 130 must be taken concurrently.
• BIO 101 and CHEM 111 will not be offered in the spring
semesters at Pace. Therefore science majors placing in a level
below MAT 130 must wait until summer or their sophomore year
to begin their science classes at Pace.

[email protected].
