December 11, 2014 Dear Interested Party, The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Eugene District, Upper Willamette Resource Area has begun planning for the Lost Creek Environmental Assessment (EA) DOI-BLM-060-2015-0002-EA and is seeking public input. The proposed project is located south of Lowell, Oregon in T19S R02W secs. 35 and 25, T20S R02W secs. 1 and 13, T19S R01W sec. 31, T20S R01W secs 07, 09, 13, 15, 17, 21, and 23, and T20S R01E secs. 19 and 29. The project is primarily within the Lookout Point Reservoir-Middle Fork Willamette River th th 5 Field Watershed except for a small portion which is within the Row River 5 Field Watershed. The land use allocations for the project area include General Forest Management Area (GFMA), Connectivity, and Riparian Reserves. The attached map shows the general boundaries of the proposed harvest areas and potential haul routes. The project would be in conformance with the Eugene District 1995 Resource Management Plan as amended. The forest management actions being considered within the approximately 1,890 acre project area include commercially thinning up to 1,120 acres (including density management in Riparian Reserves) and regeneration harvest up to 450 acres. The project would also include culvert replacements, road renovation, road construction, and road decommissioning.
