HISTORY, BA
Welcome to the Department of Economics, History, and Political Science on Pace
University’s Pleasantville campus. Courses offered by our department provide students
with the tools necessary for a better understanding of business, history, political
science, law – or simply a thorough grasp of what makes the world tick.
This degree program prepares students
for careers in law, education, publishing,
di p l o m a c y, m u s e u m s, an d pu bl ic
administration. Concentrations are
offered in U.S., European, and NonWestern History. The major may be
combined with a number of different
minors including Modern Languages,
Economics, Management, Marketing
and Law. For History majors who wish
to accelerate, there are combined
undergraduate/graduate programs.
The department offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics, Political Science,
and History, as well a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics. Minors
in Economics, African and African-American Studies, East Asian Studies, History,
Middle Eastern Studies, and Political Science are also available. The rigor of our major
and minor programs enables students to compete successfully in an ever more
challenging world; yet the programs are flexible enough to allow students to meet
their individual educational goals. Independent research opportunities abound
through seminars, independent studies, and tutorials.
Internships are also available in all three disciplines, and like our traditional and
online courses, they afford students an opportunity to interact with faculty members
who are not only knowledgeable but friendly and approachable. During their entire
time in the department, a faculty adviser/mentor will work closely with them to
ensure academic success at Pace and to provide a superior level of guidance in the
areas of graduate/professional school selection and career exploration.
ECONOMICS, BA
This degree program is ideal for students
interested in the social sciences. It allows
one to take a substantial number of

satisfies their intellectual curiosity.
BUSINESS ECONOMICS, BS
This degree program combines the
traditional Economics curriculum with
a business core including courses such
as Accounting, Finance and business

POLITICAL SCIENCE, BA
Students of political science learn that
they are engaged in a living discipline
that extends far beyond classroom
walls. Through exposure not only to
political theory and concepts - but to
practical experiences and internships,
interaction with real policy-makers, and
primary sources of international news
and information - students develop
the critical insights, skills, and contacts
needed to succeed in the real-world.
