This proactive maintenance package improves risk management, helps resolve problems quickly, and reduce operating expenses. Using information from a secure discovery of Cisco products and correlating it with Cisco's intellectual capital and product expertise, Smart Net Total Care delivers actionable intelligence, relevant recommendations and information, and proactive support capabilities that reduce operating costs and minimize downtime. New and Changed Information This release contains new features that will improve the customer experience and usability of the information SNTC provides. Workflow Optimization and Usability The ability to create Service Requests from the portal to simplify the customer interactions with Cisco. The ability to restrict inventory access per Entitled Company (EC) on a user by user basis, enhancing a company’s ability to easily match installed base visibility to specific employees. Updated eLearning We’ve re-organized the eLearning into role-based activities to make it easier for SNTC portal users to find the information they need. Users can access the eLearning link from the portal and review the modules that are useful for their jobs. 3 ` Release Notes for SNTC 1.14 CISCO SYSTEMS Collector Versions supported with SNTC This section covers the versions for both the:Hardware Collector Appliance: Software Collector Appliance: Note: The SNTC portal has training material available for both appliance versions, and also has a link to the Software Collector Appliance download center. Hardware Collector Appliance: The following versions of Collector Software are certified with SNTC 1.14: CSPC 2.2 + DPA 1.3 CNC 6.3 CSPC 2.1 T1 + DPA 1.3 CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 (with the Cisco UCS M3 (C220) platform) Software Collector Appliance: The following versions of Collector Software are certified with SNTC 1.14: CSPC 2.2 + DPA 1.3 with the VMware ESXi(5.x) platform CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with Microsoft Hyper-V (Windows Server 2008 [R2] Standard) platform CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with the VMware ESXi(5.x) platform CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with KVM Linux kernel 3.11.0-20-generic or above Note: From CSPC 2.3.1 release, DPA is embedded with the CSPC collector, so individual versions are not applicable. KVM Virtualization Platform These are the system requirements for the collector image that runs on the KVM platform: 200 GB of hard drive space 2 CPU cores (virtual CPUs). 1 virtual NIC (number of NICs required is dependent upon the network topology). 4GB of virtualRAM.Downloading and Configuring the software appliance image. Hyper-V Virtualization Platform 4 Release Notes for SNTC 1.14 CISCO SYSTEMS These are the system requirements for the collector image that runs on the Hyper-V platform: 200 GB of hard drive space 2 CPU cores (virtual CPUs). 1 virtual NIC (number of NICs required is dependent upon the network topology). 4GB of virtual RAM. Fix: The devices can now be categorized. CSCum95215 y CSCum95199 CSCum95191 Fix: The issue is now fixed, and active contract status is now showing as Active. CSCuo55051 CSCun73668 Problem: Few of the active contracts were showing the status as Signed instead of Active in the SNTC portal. y Problem: An exception occurred when loading the Product Alert Category view in portal. Fix: The issue is fixed and Product Alert Category view is now loaded properly. CSCun59273 y Problem: The offline reports running and startup configuration hyperlinks did not open up. Fix: The issue is now fixed and the hyperlinks are opening after installing the Microsoft patch. CSCuo19372 Y Problem: The field notice alerts were showing different URLs at different levels. Fix: The issue is now fixed and the URLs are appearing properly. CSCuo54193 y Problem: The Contract Replacement for NOS user was not allowed because the contract number was not displayed during contract replacement. Fix: The issue is now fixed, and the NOS user can now perform contract replacement. CSCuo41061 Problem: y Startup configuration was not displayed in the online reports. CSCun99283 Fix: CSCup92040 The coverage issues are now fixed in the customer report. CSCup44094 CSCup16037 y Problem: There were "data records" in SNTC that do not have SLA information. Fix: The SLA information is now updated in the data records. Note: The resolution of the data records will begin after the release and may require 1 week to fully populate. CSCup60350 y Problem: The SNTC was unable to register multiple users. Fix: The issue is now fixed, and the SNTC can now register users. CSCup95383 y Problem: Partial data was displayed in PSIRT alerts pod. Fix: The issue is now fixed, and the data is well displayed in the PSIRT alerts pod. CSCup88357 y Problem: Unable to download offline Inventory Delta and Product Alert Delta Report. Fix: The issue is now fixed delta offline reports download link is working fine. CSCup97934 y Problem: Card was appearing as Chassis in Expiring Device Coverages of Contract Management Report. Fix: The issue is now fixed, and error does not occur when performing Contract Replacement. y CSCtx70160 Problem: The serial number was not showing up in the reports. Fix: The serial number is now showing up in the reports. Known Issues: CSCun59273 -Users running 2007 Microsoft Office Suite and having issues with hyperlinks embedded within Excel files should review the following Microsoft patch. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596545.
