This proactive maintenance package improves risk management, helps resolve problems quickly, and reduce operating expenses. Using information from a secure discovery of Cisco products and correlating it with Cisco's intellectual capital and product expertise, Smart Net Total Care delivers actionable intelligence, relevant recommendations and information, and proactive support capabilities that reduce operating costs and minimize downtime. New and Changed Information In preparation for the final migration steps needed for moving customer to the new Smart Net Total Care portal, some of the administrative capabilities in the 1.x portal will be frozen as of May 15, 2015. Once Migration is complete, all these activities will be resumed on the new portal but not accessible on 1.x portal. As of May 15, 2015 date, your company’s Smart Net Total Care administrator and users who have been granted access will no longer have access to the following in the 1.x portal: Add new users to the 1.x portal Manage user profiles, including Partner LOA access Create additional or update existing segments Manage service coverage and alert access controls Import CSV files with the file import capability Update in-scope contracts for Aggregated report generation Users will continue to be able to view the information that is already in the SNTC 1.x portal. For example, they will be able to access existing segment groupings, and view the notes and comments that have already been added to alerts and service coverage reports. Collector Versions Supported with Smart Net Total Care This section covers the versions for both the Software Collector Appliance: Hardware Collector Appliance: Note: The Smart Net Total Care portal has training material available for both appliance versions, and also has a link to the Software Collector Appliance download center. Hardware Collector Appliance The following versions of Collector Software are certified with Smart Net Total Care 1.16 MR4: CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 (with the Cisco UCS M3 (C220) platform) CSPC 2.4.1 CSPC 2.4.1 + RP 3.19 (with the Cisco UCS M3 (C220) platform) 3 Software Collector Appliance The following versions of Collector Software are certified with Smart Net Total Care 1.16 MR4: CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with Microsoft Hyper-V (Windows Server 2008 [R2] Standard) platform CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with the VMware ESXi(5.x) platform CSPC 2.3.1.1 + RP 3.17 with KVM Linux kernel 3.11.0-20-generic or above CSPC 2.4.1 + RP 3.19 with Microsoft Hyper-V (Windows Server 2008 [R2] Standard) platform CSPC 2.4.1 + RP 3.19 CSPC 2.4.1 + RP 3.19 with KVM Linux kernel 3.11.0-20-generic or above with the VMware ESXi(5.x) platform Note: From CSPC 2.3.1 release, DPA is embedded with the CSPC collector, so individual versions are not applicable. KVM Virtualization Platform These are the system requirements for the collector image that runs on the KVM: 200 GB of hard drive space 2 CPU cores (virtual CPUs) 1 virtual NIC (number of NICs required is dependent upon the network topology) 4GB of virtualRAM.Downloading and Configuring the software appliance image Hyper-V Virtualization Platform These are the system requirements for the collector image that runs on the Hyper-V: 200 GB of hard drive space 2 CPU cores (virtual CPUs). 1 virtual NIC (number of NICs required is dependent upon the network topology). 4GB of virtual RAM. VMware Virtualization Platform These are the system requirements for the collector image that runs on the VMware platform: 200 GB of hard drive space 2 CPU cores (virtual CPUs) 1 virtual GB NIC (number of NICs required is dependent upon the network topology) 4GB of virtual RAM. 4 Resolved Defects The following defects are fixed, closed , and verified: Table 1 Customer Facing Fixed Defects Smart Net Total Care 1.16 MR4 Bug ID CSCuo27935 Verified y Description Problem: Provide a feature to remove or move a specific collection upload and inventory. Fix: The feature is now available. CSCuq42893 y Problem: The number of contracts present in the Contract Management Report did not match with the number of contracts present in the Aggregated Report. Fix: The numbers are now matching in both the reports. CSCuq53448 y Problem: There was no mapping between the Old Entitled Company (EC) and New EC whenever there was a request to change the collector from old EC to new EC. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCur26034 y Problem: Invalid alert description is reported for the device. Fix: The issue is now resolved and correct alert descriptions are reported. CSCur69436 y Problem: Dummy chassis flag was wrongly set for the parent chassis. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCur79982 y Problem: Some non-Cisco items are displayed in the portal. Fix: Non-Cisco items are no longer displayed. CSCur94388 CSCur99310 y Problem: Show commands are not processed in SNTC 1.X. CSCus10027 y Problem: Filter option is not working properly when the Inventory report is generated. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCus14140 y Problem: Certain error codes in Inventory Insight Report (IIR) were visible to customer but those did not appear in the reports nor have any information on why these errors occurred. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCus20345 y Problem: Some data collections failed to upload. Fix: The issue has been resolved. CSCus32985 y Problem: Issues occurred while downloading the Aggregated Report from the Smart Net Total Care portal. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCus34394 y Problem: The Smart Net Total Care was showing incorrect data in online Field Notice (FN) alerts. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCus36146 y Problem: Some devices did not correctly display the related alerts. CSCus82123 Fix: The issue is resolved by validating the SR content based on the availability of Serial Number of device. CSCus72437 y Problem: Error messages occurred when selecting Field Notice alerts in the portal. Fix: The issue is now resolved. CSCus72631 y Problem: The hardware alert for a specific card was not displayed in the Product Alerts report. CSCut97378 y Problem: The filtering option is not working properly for valid cards category. Fix: The issue is now resolved and the filtering is working as expected after valid Card category validation. CSCuu16544 Y Problem: Product Alerts report displays duplicate device entries for same alert, same hostname, IP address and device. Fix: The issue is resolved and no duplicates are displayed. CSCuu21489 Y Problem: In Contract Management Report, for Chassis Covered tab, the devices information is missing. Fix: The issue is resolved and alert message is shown to the users for invalid or expired contracts. CSCuu26808 Y Problem: The Entitled Company was missing the Site GUID. Fix: The issue is resolved now and the Site GUID and Name is available for the entitled company. CSCuu53653 Y Problem: Alert PID was missing for multiple devices in Inventory Report. Fix: The issue is resolved and Alert PID is displayed for all devices in Inventory Report. CSCuu72599 Y Problem: New Contract number is not populated on the Contract replacement screen. Fix: The issue is resolved. New contract details are populated by adding contract status as OVERDUE, SIGNED, QA_HOLD in Active status group. CSCuv00323 Y Problem: Contract replacement for NOS program type not working, Fix: The issue is resolved. 9 Known Issues The following table shows the known issues and workaround. Bug ID Description CSCun59273 Problem: Users running 2007 Microsoft Office Suite and having issues with hyperlinks embedded within Excel files should review Workaround: Refer the following Microsoft patch. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2596545. CSCuu26924 Problem: The Entitled company is displaying same child serial number on two different hostnames.
