K&L Gates Public Policy and Law Practice:
Federal Funding
K&L Gates’ federal funding practice blends the three elements of a successful program:
substantive knowledge, a detailed understanding of the process and access to key decisionmakers in the United States Congress and the Administration.
We have built our practice by knowing how
the complex budget and appropriations
processes work–from beginning to end.
We know not only the formalities such as
committee structure and agency programs
and accounts, but we also recognize the
intangibles such as members’ personal
relations and staffers’ agendas.
K&L Gates interacts with the highest level of
decision-makers in both the U.S. House and
Senate on a daily basis. Our team knows
and works with officials in the Administration,
including at the Office of Management and
Budget, to ensure that programs of interest to
clients are funded within the Administration’s
budget request and that client projects funded
by the U.S. Congress are obligated in a
timely manner.
Our team is focused on meeting and
exceeding the goals of our clients in obtaining
federal appropriations and federal agency
funding. We represent clients on a broad
range of funding matters that result in direct
expenditure of federal funds or preserve an
exemption or an authority.
K&L Gates secured more than
US$650 million in FY-06
through FY-09 in project earmarks and
federal agency program funding
of interest to clients.
