Vapour Pressure Sensor Protection Kit (for Cone Antennas)

Rosemount TankRadar
VPS Protection Kit for Cone Antennas
Rosemount Tank Radar is designing systems to sustain full function during all
conditions considering as few operational interruptions as possible.
To maintain the high level of robustness we are continuously looking at improvements of our systems
The “VPS” Protection Kit” protects the IG sensor pressure port from high pressure pulses that can be generated by tank cleaning devices or tank sloshing.
When the tank cleaning procedure is carried out there is a risk of exposing the
IG sensor to pressure bursts from the water jet depending on the positions of
the cleaning guns. Also tank sloshing may cause pressure pulses depending on
tank shape, type of cargo, weather, filling grade, etc.
A direct hit from a cleaning gun or rough tank sloshing may damage the sensor, causing it to present frozen pressure readings or stop functioning.
Direct hit from cleaning gun could damage
the VPS.
HOW TO INSTALL
The “VPS Protection Kit” will reduce the risks of loosing tank pressure read out
and increases the robustness further of your STaR system, even after exposing
the system to extreme conditions. The VPS Protection Kit is easy to install and
the installation can be carried out by the crew. All the additional parts can be
fitted within the existing TGU cover, no external harness or mechanical equipment on deck are needed.
