Test Cable Calibration
Level measurement accuracy is crucial from both a commercial and safety
perspective. To verify that the Rosemount TankRadar Custody Transfer Systems is
measuring correctly there are a set of two Test Cables delivered to all LNG vessels. It
is important to let a certified party calibrate the Test Cables on a regularly basis.
VERIFICATION OF CUSTODY TRANSFER SYSTEM
Verification by means of Test Cables is a complete level measurement test that
is carried out by replacing the Gauge antenna with the Test Cables. One Test
Cable for approximate 20% level and the other one for 80% level.
RECOMMENDATION FOR CALIBRATION
The Test Cables are certified instruments and should be calibrated regularly.
Our recommendation is to calibrate the Test Cables well in advance for every
overhaul, or at least once every fifth year.
STATUS OF TEST CABLES
Check status of the Test Cables by reading the calibration date on the label.
