2. Introduction
This topic introduces feminist perspectives in analyzing crime theories, and the criminal justice
system. It will afterwards focus on gender based violence and violence against women, some of
which constitutes a criminal offence. It will examine as different forms of sexual violence. It will
also analyze the women offender and the different punishments she receives, as well as the
situation of LGBT people.

5. Evaluation
Evaluation is 30% seminars and 70% final exam.
• Seminars: The student must participate in each seminar and hand out 1
individual work of maximum 5 pages. This can be written in Spanish,
although making papers in English will be positively evaluated. If the
paper is not presented it will have zero points.
• Written individual works must be original. Quotes must be always in
quotation marks and the source of the information must be cited. Each
text work should include bibliography where all the sources of
information must be stated, including web pages. In case of plagiarisms
final grade will be zero.
•
In case the exam or the seminars are failed a second exam will take
place on May 4th or 11th. It is not possible to take this second chance
unless the student has participated in the at least in 50% of the seminars
AND in the exam. If the seminars have been failed the student will have
to hand out the written paper also on the date of the exam.

7. Metodology
Participation in the classes is expected and positively evaluated.
Before the seminar sessions, students must read and answer the discussion questions
in order to be able to participate during the sessions.
