Faculty Executive Officers to Establish and book Faculty committees for August –
September

Membership of the Faculty SSP Committee consists of the following members and includes
appropriate gender representation.

Executive Dean (Presiding Officer)

Two (2) academic staff members of the Faculty, nominated by the Executive
Dean, at least one (1) of whom will be a member of the professoriate

A member of the professoriate external to the Faculty, nominated by the
Executive Dean.
Faculty Executive Officers to check eligibility.
Academic staff must meet the following criteria to be eligible for SSP:

Continuing academic staff - employed at CSU for three (3) or more years prior to the start
date of SSP, or have been granted equivalent credit from another approved institution.

Fixed-term academic staff - must be employed on a fixed-term appointment of more than
three (3) years prior to the start date of SSP, or have combined continuous fixed-term
employment exceeding three (3) years.

Satisfactorily completed final probationary review prior to starting SSP

At least three (3) years have elapsed since completing a previous SSP grant.

Faculty Executive Officers to complete the Summary sheet, columns 1 & 2. The Faculty SSP
Committee will complete the rest of the Summary sheet.

When complete send Summary sheet to Division of Human Resources, Service Centre
and the Travel Office.

Faculty SSP Committees meet to consider applications
By 30 August

Faculty Executive Officers to retain and file application forms – for future reference
In September

Faculties will advise all successful and unsuccessful applicants.
Ongoing

Follow up successful applicants have lodged form 2, two months prior to start of SSP leave,
retain and file

Follow up successful applicants have lodged form 3, within two months of returning from
SSP leave, retain and file

Advise Division of Human Resources, Service Centre and The Travel Office of any
changes to SSP leave
