Please note: This communication letter supersedes Rosemount Nuclear Instruments, Inc. letter dated
September 14, 2011 with subject “Discontinuance of Rosemount Nuclear Model 710 Trip/Calibration
System”:
On September 14, 2011, RNII wrote to inform you of the decision to discontinue the Model 710
Trip/Calibration System. In response to subsequent industry feedback requesting extended 710 product
availability, RNII is pleased to announce that we have entered into a technology transfer agreement with
Scientech, a business unit of Curtis-Wright Flow Control Company, to establish a continued source of
supply for the 710. Under this agreement, Scientech will take over all design, manufacturing, and field
support for the 710 product line beginning January 1, 2013.
To facilitate this transfer, RNII will continue to accept purchase orders through December 31, 2012 for
the 710 Trip/Calibration System, with shipments extending into early 2013. All orders placed on or
before this date will be manufactured and shipped by RNII from our Chanhassen, MN facility. Please
note RNII reserves the right to limit orders and quantities subject to parts availability.
Effective January 1, 2013, all customer purchase orders for 710 products should be placed directly with
Scientech, who will manufacture and ship product from their Idaho Falls, ID facility. It is Scientech’s
intent to retain the existing 710 model number structure to help simplify the transition.
As you may be aware, Scientech’s I&C Division specializes in supplying obsolete and difficult to support
electrical instrumentation for safety related applications in the nuclear industry. Scientech is also
currently a RNII sub-supplier for 710 circuit card assemblies, making them well positioned to continue
providing high quality 710 products for your future plant needs.
