The University wouldn’t be anywhere without the community. To recognise this, today is dedicated to showcasing our beautiful campus and celebrating 50 years of teaching and research excellence. We have eight themed ‘Hubs’ based around campus, featuring a variety of activities, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, tours and mini lectures. From our Māori and Pacific Law students, to creative arts workshops, our Cultural Hub has it all. The Cultural Hub will give you the opportunity to experience the hands-on weaving workshops or understanding the ceremonial practices of kava. There is also general street parking available and overflow parking with a connecting shuttle service at Innovation Park on Ruakura Rd. Disabled parking is available inside Gate 5 on Hillcrest Rd. A video booth will be on hand for you to record your stories with us, and musical entertainment will also be taking place. The Sports & Recreation Hub will be a showcase of all that’s active, including tours of the facilities, and a chance to take a look at international sports you’ve never seen before. A competition will be running at the Sport & Recreation Hub so make sure you get in quick for your chance to win prizes.
