Community Open Day programme

Welcome to the University of Waikato campus, and to our very first
Community Open Day. We’ve come a long way in the last 50 years,
from humble beginnings as farmland to what is now a world-leading
university ranked in the top 2% of universities worldwide.
The University wouldn’t be anywhere without the community.
To recognise this, today is dedicated to showcasing our
beautiful campus and celebrating 50 years of teaching and
research excellence.
We have eight themed ‘Hubs’ based around campus, featuring a
variety of activities, interactive exhibits, demonstrations, tours
and mini lectures.
Use this programme to make the most of your visit to the
University of Waikato. Explore, discover, and most of all have fun!
Register your details and keep up to date with events and news during our 50th
