Dear Ms. Lindaman and Mr. McDaniel,
I read with interest the recent newspaper article about a new trail being planned in the Tin Pan Peak/Rogue River
area. I would strongly urge that the new trail be panned to accommodate hikers and horseback riders as well as
mountain bikers. Horseback riders in particular have lost access to some favorite trails in recent times and more
trails are needed for EVERYONE to enjoy. As a horse owner and member of a horse club, I would like to point
out that our members are very aware of and courteous about trail maintenance and safety and often attend work
parties to help with trail maintenance. Please do not make plans for new trails or revisions to old trails without
considering the needs and enjoyment of horseback riders as well as hikers and bikers. I love to see my tax
dollars at work, but would also love to use the trails created for my favorite activity--horseback riding!

Hello!
I was really glad to receive the information regarding the "mountain of the rogue" trail. I am a long time mountain
biker who lives near the foots creek area. I travel to Applegate, Taylor Creek or Mt. Ashland area for trail riding
currently. Having a responsibly constructed local riding area would be so nice! (Gas ain't cheap these days) More
than that I believe that creating opportunities for families and friends to get out and enjoy our beautiful
environment is a very noble cause. We need to counteract the negatives in our society by making more places to
have positive experiences.
Thank you for the work you are doing on this project. We really hope it will become a reality. If there is anything
we the public can do to help, please let us know!

Dear Trish Lindaman;
I am writing to show my support for the proposed Mountain of the Rogue Trail Project. I have lived in Grants Pass
for the past two years where I work as a veterinarian. I use our local trails as a hiker, mountain biker and
horseback rider. It would be great to have another close trail system besides Cathedral and Bolt Mountain without
going as far as the Taylor Creek trail system, Talent or Ashland. I was especially excited to hear about the
prospect of a new trail intended mostly for mountain bikers. Having options for non-shared use trails is a great
way to reduce potential user conflict and build a fun trail that is tailored to non-motorized bikes in particular.
It is an exciting idea to start a trail in this location where this is room for expansion over time and as funds/labor
allows. It is also heartening that the plans are geared towards being sustainable and take environmental impact
into account. The location seems accessible and promising for fun trails.
Thank you for striving to provide more trails in the Rogue Valley and I do think that a mountain bike/hiking trail will
be greatly used and appreciated.

Hello Trish,
I am writing to respond to a recent post on Facebook concerning a new Rogue River trail system. I am an avid
horsewoman who rides trails and have been willing to show up to clear and maintain them as well. So I would
like to request, strongly, that any new trail system include HORSES as part of your overall plan.
It was suggested that there was no interest from horse people concerning more trails, but I have attended trail
management meetings in the past (concerning other projects) and would have made my voice heard if I had
known about this plan to add trails on the Rogue River (I am fairly new to the area).
We equestrians are as in need of new and fun trails to ride as hikers and bikers, and we would like to be included
in any future plans for BLM trails. Please let me know if you need anything more from me concerning my
feedback about the new trail system. I would be happy to correspond more or do more to make sure this takes
place.

There are many riders that use the Cathedral Hills trail system in Grants Pass, and undoubtedly many riders
