Dear Trish Lindaman:
I am a 28 year-old male engineer in Grants Pass and an avid mountain biker in the entire Rogue Valley area. I am
in strong support of a mountain bike-specific trail system in Rogue River as well as other projects in the valley.
The Rogue River trail system is in a prime location to be accessible by everyone in the valley as it is a relatively
short drive from both Grants Pass and Medford. There have been innumerable examples of a trail system having a
major positive benefit to local tourism as well as drawing young, educated, and healthy individuals to reside in an
area near trail systems. Towns like Grants Pass are severely lacking in this demographic in part due to the lack
of recreation opportunities that are available like in other parts of the state such as Bend. The mountain bike
community of the valley is a very energetic, athletic, and proactive group. Bikers are very involved when it comes
to trail maintenance and repair as we stand to gain the most from a trail that is in good condition. I truly believe
that the pros vastly outweigh any cons related to the construction of this trail project and am very interested in
expressing my opinion in any public forum that may be held in the future.
Thank you and I appreciate the BLM’s efforts to expand our trail riding opportunities!!

Nick,
My name is
, and I would like to let you know that I am very interested in the proposed trail
system in Rogue River for mountain biking and hiking. Having purpose built mountain bike trails in the area would
be very awesome, so I hope that we can get this ball rolling.
Thank you for your time.

First off I want to thank you for working hard to create opportunities for new mountain bike specific trails in our
area. As an avid mountain biker I have traveled many hours just to ride different trail systems. I feel with the right
trail systems we can be a larger mountain bike destination.
Bend Or. has been a fantastic example of a destination mountain bike area. The trail systems and parks
there have created a viable tourism industry for bikers and hikers. The proposed area for this new trail system
looks fantastic. I feel with the right planning and trail systems it could help put southern Oregon on the map for
Mountain biking as a destination, not just a stop though place to ride on the way to Bend.
Thanks again,

My husband and I would very much like you to include horses when considering the new trail out of Rogue River
in the Tin Pan Peak area!! There are not enough trails for horses as it is. Cathedrial Hills out of Grants Pass is
a wonderful trail system for all. (hikers, bikers and horses!!) Their is no reason not to include them when
considering new trails. Years ago we rode alot up on John's Peak!! However moter cycles became more and
more of a problem and it was plain to hazardous for horses. It would really be nice to have someting like this
closer to home. We would not be able to help financially but we have good strong backs it laber and have done a
lot of trail work over the years, and would be willing to help in anyway.
Please consider horses.
Thanking you in advance

Dear Trish Lindaman:
I am a father of two and an engineer in Grants Pass. I am in favor of the Rogue River Mountain Bike Trails
proposed by the BLM. I do a little bit of biking but my boys are inseparable from their bikes. My oldest son Luke
is into the style of riding that would be possible on a flow-trail similar to what has been proposed in this project. I
see my son developing as a rider and I believe trails built specifically for mountain bikes would challenge him and
help him build up his confidence on his bike and in life. I believe activities such as mountain biking help kids
establish their identities and give them something to be proud of. When I was a boy, soccer was my outlet and it
helped me get through the difficulties of being a kid. For my son, it’s riding his bike. The more opportunities he
has to develop as a rider, the more it will keep him interested in the sport that he loves!
Sincerely,

Dear Sir,
I have heard you are working on a trail out side of Rogue River. I live in the Gold Hill area and I'm always looking
for places to trail ride with my horses. Sounds like a cool idea could you also add horse to the use?
Thank you,

I recently heard of a new trail being developed in Rogue River for hikers and bikers but horse riders were not
considered. Although you have not had the response from riders that you expected, many of us were not aware
of the trails being developed. There are limited developed trails without having to drive 2hours or so to go to the
mountains, so I beg that you consider adding horseback riding to allowable options on your trails. Speaking from
experience, riders are consider of trails, assist in development and maintenance of them, and make sure their
parking area is keep clean when they leave. As illustrated at Cathedral Hills, riders exist along with bikers and
hikers without incident and regularly use the trails. As I said, we have limited trails without having to drive great
distances so i hope you will consider allowing horseriders into your new trails.

The proposed trail system in Rogue River is an excellent idea. Studies have shown that people who enjoy
outdoor activity on a regular basis lead longer, happier healthier lives. This area is already a minor destination
spot for mountain bikers. With trails in Ashland, Talent, Jacksonville, proposed trails in Medford on Roxy Anne,
The Applegate valley, and Grants Pass, we have access to a diverse network of trails. All of these towns, and
cities have benifitted from the added tourism that this sport brings. There is no good reason I can think of to deny
such a system.

I am writing in support of the "Mountain of the Rogue Trail" Project. I am an avid mountain biker here in the
Rogue Valley and an active member of the Rogue Valley Mountain Biking Assn. (RVMBA). We have a history of
building trails, and more importantly, maintaining those trails. I am always seeking more opportunity for my son
and I to enjoy mountain biking.
Having a new trail mountain bike trail network so close to home is ideal. Thank You for your time planning and
organizing this trail project. It has my support and gratitude.
Respectfully,
Central Point, OR
