Wow, my husband and I are glad to hear about the proposed local trail here in our Rogue River Valley. That's an
incredible idea and we consider the prospect to be a huge asset to our area to enjoy the natural, beautiful
wonder's so prevalent here. We also think it will bring visitors which boosts the economy of local businesses.

I have lived in the area for almost 40 years.
I feel the that a trail in the planned area of North river road would be a very good addition.
This would have a great view from the top, and really show off the beauty of the Rogue River and the surrounding
area, and be able to see up Foot creek and Birdseye creek areas.
I hike and mountain bike both, and this would be closer for family and myself to uses.
I'm in favor of the trail.

I recently read an article in the Rogue River Press regarding the trail project in the
Earhart/Wards Creek drainages. I would like to see this activity pursued. We do not have
many close by activities for our kids and adults to go mountain bike riding and pleasure
walking other than the greenway along the river. The river trail is very short for most
folks. There are a few good reasons I would like to see this happen. First the people
typically involved with this activity are doing it for there health and entertainment. They
don't smoke, trash our lands and are usually good stewarts of the land. The trails would
provide natural fire trail breaks in the event of another forest fire in the area. I know I
fought plenty of fires during my career in Southern Oregon.
I know the River Press sounded a little negative about this project according to the
article. This may be because of relatives that live in the area.
I think providing the correct parking, use rules and even involve users to help maintain
the area this project could become a great thing for us.
I am a hunter but I don't hunt that area I know others that do during the season. Most of
the hunters respect the land and neighbors. The ones that don't usually hear from us
respectful hunters. Weekend parties are a problem on BLM lands mainly where they can
access the party area by vehicle. In this case the parking lot area will be the spot where
issues might occur. Most weekend party sites are up Fielder, Elk Mountain, Elderberry
Flats, Savage and Birdseye creek . I think the development of this project on BLM land
would be a good use for many. Please consider my comments and if you need to contact

system in our backyard. As a long time trail runner we are always looking for new options to explore. As you

I wanted to send an email in support of the “Mountain of the Rogue Trails” project in Rogue River, Oregon. We are a
small community in southern Oregon that includes a large number of active residents. I think the addition of the trails
would be a great use of BLM land that would see a good amount of use from hikers and mountain bikers. It could also be a
destination site bikers and hikers throughout the Oregon since we have some of the best weather in the state.
