The Applegate Trails Association (ATA) would like to go on record in support of the non-motorized trails
system, the Mountain of the Rogue Trail Project. Designated non-motorized trails are in high demand and
short supply in Southern Oregon. The trail design in this plan seems to do a good job of utilizing BLM’s
patchwork of land ownership to create a needed recreation opportunity. ATA supports mountain biking and
would hope this system has places suitable for all levels of mountain biking. Although the plan’s focus is on
mountain biking it appears the plan also tries to provide for the hiking community. Hikers and mountain
bikers do well sharing trails. Thank you BLM for supporting non-motorized trails in Southern Oregon.
