Use this document in combination with documents listed in Related Documentation, on page 4. Release notes are sometimes updated with new information about restrictions and caveats. See the following website for the most recent version of the Cisco C880 M4 Server Release Notes: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps13050/tsd_products_support_general_information.html System Requirements Following table outlines the minimum system requirements for Cisco UCS Director to manage the Cisco C880 M4 Server. Table 1: Minimum System Requirements Resource Minimum Requirements vCPU 4 Memory Minimum = 4GB High Loads and Scalability = 8 GB Hard disk 40 GB Note • We recommend that you reserve 8 GB of memory and 2000 MHz of CPU resources for Cisco C880 M4 Server. • To manage a Cisco C880 M4 server, you must have Cisco UCS Director, Release 5.1.0.1. Supported Browser Versions Cisco C880 M4 Server supports the following browsers: • Internet Explorer 8 or higher • Google Chrome 4.1 or higher • Firefox 3.5 or higher 2 • Safari 4.0 or higher (for Apple Mac or Microsoft Windows) Browsers require the Adobe Flash Player 11 and above plug-in. Open Caveats Following table shows caveats that are open in Cisco UCS Director for C880 M4 Server. Defect ID Symptom CSCur52581 Trigger is not getting invoked as per the count mentioned in Maximum Invocations for stateful and stateless triggers. Trigger invocation count is one for all triggers. CSCur63086 Stateless trigger is not working CSCur63535 For multiple trigger conditions Email notification is generated for n number of times, where n=number of conditions Note Release notes information is sometimes updated after the Release Notes for Cisco C880 M4 Server document is published. Applying the Cisco C880 M4 Server Connector Patch Before You Begin • Download the Cisco C880 M4 Server connector, Release 1.0 patch from http://www.cisco.com. • Place the software in the FTP or HTTP server that you plan to use to install the upgrade. • If NFS mount is used for application storage, disable it before you apply a patch. If you do not, the upgrade will fail. Note We recommend that you take a snapshot of the VM before you begin the upgrade. If you do this, you do not need to back up the existing configuration database through an FTP server. 3 Procedure Step 1 Step 2 Start your current version of Cisco UCS Director. In the shelladmin, choose Stop services to stop all services. Step 3 To verify that all services are stopped, choose Display services status. Step 4 (Optional) If desired, you can choose Backup database to back up the Cisco UCS Director database. You do not need to back up the database if you took a snapshot of the VM before you started. Step 5 Step 6 To apply patch application to Cisco UCS Director Choose Apply patch . When prompted, enter the location of the Cisco C880 M4 Server connector patch. ftp://username:password@hostname|IP_address/software_location_and_name Step 7 Step 8 Wait for the download and installation to complete. When prompted, choose Start services to start services and complete the upgrade process. Note After patch application is complete, choose the Start Services option of ShellAdmin to start/restart the Cisco UCS Director services and complete the patch process. The patch process is not complete or successful until the Cisco UCS Director services have started, Cisco UCS Director is available, the login screen is displayed, and the admin user can log in to Cisco UCS Director. Step 9 All Cisco UCS Director services must be started before you attempt to perform other shelladmin procedures, such as apply additional patches, take a database backup, or restore a database from a backup. When the patch application is complete, choose Show Version in ShellAdmin to verify the current version of Cisco UCS Director.
