Cisco IMC PowerTool enables easy integration with existing IT management processes and tools. Cisco IMC PowerTool cmdlets work on the Cisco IMC Management Information Tree (MIT). The cmdlets allows you to perform create, modify, or delete actions on the Managed Objects (MOs) in the MIT. Note Cisco IMC PowerTool can coexist with Cisco UCS Manager PowerTool enabling management of the entire UCS environment. Release Notes for Cisco IMC PowerTool, Release 1.x 2 OL-31226-01 New Features System Requirements Before installing Cisco IMC PowerTool, ensure that the system meets the following requirements: • Windows PowerShell 2.0 or above must be installed on the system • .NET Framework Version 2.0 SP1 or higher Cisco IMC Cisco IMC PowerTool is compatible with the following Cisco IMC releases: • Release 1.5 and above for the C-Series servers • Release 2.2(1) and above for the E-Series servers Windows PowerShell Requirements Cisco IMC PowerTool requires Windows PowerShell v2.0 or higher version to be installed on the system. Note Check the Microsoft website for specific Windows PowerShell requirements. PowerShell Functionality Cisco IMC PowerTool, Release 1.0 includes the following PowerShell functionality: • Fully object based • Command pipelining support • Inline help (get-help) support • Standard verb implementation: Resolved Caveats This section lists the resolved caveats for Cisco IMC PowerTool. Release Notes for Cisco IMC PowerTool, Release 1.x 8 OL-31226-01 Open Caveats Table 2 Resolved Caveats First Release Affected Resolved in Release Clear-ImcSnmpTrap and Clear-ImcSyslogclient disable only the AdminState for C-Series rack servers with versions 2.0(1b) and above. 1.2(1) 1.4(2) CSCun09151 ConvertTo-ImcCmdlet does not generate proper out file for Get-ImcTopSystem. 1.2(1) 1.4(2) CSCup43709 Clear-ImcLdapGroupMap does not work 1.2(1) for C-Series rack servers with versions 2.0(1b) and above. 1.3(1) CSCun45036 The Start-ImcIodSnapshot fails with a pipeline input parameter. 1.1(1) 1.2(1) CSCuh40913 Set-UcsRackBiosIntelDirectedIO -vpIntelVTDInterruptRemapping not allowed 1.1(1) 1.2(1) Bug ID Description CSCup93780 Open Caveats Open caveats may be listed in association with the release in which they were first noticed or in the release identified as the first affected. We recommend to review open caveats in all releases to avoid overlooking a defect that may impact the release. The following caveats are open in Cisco IMC PowerTool: Table 3 Open Caveats in Cisco IMC PowerTool Workaround First Bundle Affected Bug ID Symptom CSCux63164 On some operating systems Cisco IMC Reboot or Log-off after 1.4(1) PowerTool fails to launch and throws the installing Cisco IMC following error: PowerTool to update the environment variables. “The Module '%ImcInstallPath%CiscoImcPS%' could not be loaded" CSCum26147 Cisco UCS E-Series GUI does not allow local user password fewer than seven characters. But the PowerTool cmdlets allows setting of one-character one-character password. Set minimum of seven 1.1(1) character passwords, so that you can use the same password with the Cisco UCS E-Series GUI too.
