Pace University Pleasantville Student Development and Campus Activities Graduate Assistant Position for Leadership Initiatives Primary Responsibility: The Graduate Assistant will actively be involved in many of the Setters Leadership Initiatives housed within Student Development and Campus Activities. This position will assist in the administration, implementation, and assessment of the Setters Leadership Program (SLP), Setters Leadership House (SLH), Women’s Leadership, Pace Makes a Difference Day, Pace Pride Awards, High-Potential Leadership Series, and the co-curricular certificate. The GA will not work with every leadership initiative. The person chosen for this position will also serve on the SLP Advisory Board with other faculty, staff and students. The board has developed the framework for all leadership programs. This framework will serve as the basis for all leadership initiatives. This position will report directly to the Coordinator for Leadership Initiatives in the Center for Student Development and Campus Activities. Specific Responsibilities: Plan, facilitate, and attend the Setters Leadership Initiatives (SLI) Retreat at the end of August for new cohorts of SLH/SLP Plan the Opening Reception for all participants involved in leadership initiatives Oversee large scale events including Pace Makes a Difference Day (Fall) and Pace Pride Awards (Spring). Serve as the advisor to the planning board for the Annual Women’s Leadership Conference (Spring) Assist the Coordinator for Leadership Initiatives with the High-Potential Leadership Series for upperclassmen (Spring) Serve on the SLP Advisory Board Prepare and manage assessment and evaluation data of all leadership initiatives Develop/create workshops that enhance all leadership initiatives as necessary Participate in the marketing and recruitment of the SLP and SLH program Work in collaboration with SDCA staff to manage requests of the co-curricular transcript Develop leadership resources based on student need and help maintain the leadership web site Maintain at least 20 office hours per week and perform other duties as assigned or requested Event Responsibilities: (1) Serve in a rotation with other Graduate Assistants for on campus parties and long distance travel, including but not limited to, nights and weekends; (2) Be present at certain campus and student events to assist with setup and cleanup; and, (3) Assist with duties at large campus events as needed/necessary Minimum Qualifications: 1) Experience in co-curricular life- housing, orientation, student government and/or campus programming is required; 2) Knowledge of various leadership theories and its application; 3) Ability to take the initiative and work with others to develop new programs; 4) Participation in a campus leadership development program is strongly preferred; 5) Knowledge and interest in working in a college environment; 6) Successful completion of a background check (if not a Pace student); and 7) Can work at least 20 hours a week on a varied schedule.
