Pace University Student Development and Campus Activities Finance Intern Position Description POSITION PURPOSE: The Finance Intern for the Center for Student Development & Campus Activities will assist the professional and para- professional staff in overseeing the health and stability of our 65 agency accounts. The Finance Intern will be responsible for communicating process, procedures and all updates relevant for student organizations, and faculty/ staff advisors when appropriate. The Finance Intern will be expected to work 12-15 hours minimum per week and have working knowledge of current financial balance and budgeting software and strategies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Training and Development: (1) Work with the Associate Director of SDCA to attend training for the required software and skills necessary to perform the job expectations, (2) Work with Director and Associate Director, Student Development and Campus Activities, as to develop training to promote student success for both students and staff and other members in the community, (3) Create and implement financial training sessions (credits, debits, balances, etc) for student organizations. General Administration: (1) Schedule at least 12-15 office hours per week (outside of meetings); (2) Create, revise, and manage student guides for monitoring agency accounts and web page documents; (3) Monitor and report on banner v. orgsync account balances; (4) Review the [email protected] email account and respond to messages in a timely manner (relative to Finance Position); (5) Alert constituents of agency account activity in a regular fashion, (6) Assist in reconciliation of the BAC budget with Vice President of Finance for Student Association; (7) Performs other duties as assigned or requested. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Experience in finance, budgeting, balancing and reconciliation is required; (2) Must be a part-time or full-time student at Pace University in Westchester for the Fall 2011 semester; (3) Provide evidence of Finance coursework and/or work experience is strongly preferred; (4) Knowledge and interest in working in a college environment; and, (5) Successful completion of a background check (GPA and judicial record); (6)Ability to provide data drive reports, and assessments on accounts (monthly); (7) Knowledge in OrgSync, Banner Finance, Microsoft Office, E-Portfolio and Adobe products is also strongly preferred. PHYSICAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Work performed both in and outdoors; ability to lift 25lbs; frequent walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, twisting; frequent use of phone and computer keyboard.
