$1,050.00 includes a shared room, 3 meals per day, excursions, cultural
activities and international health insurance.
AIRFARE is NOT included in the program fee.
(All students are responsible for arriving at their study abroad
location by the first day of the program; this may mean flying the
day before).

Note Bene: Students are responsible for meeting the payment deadline regardless
of funding source,i.e. Macaulay Opportunities Fund, loans or any type of Financial Aid. Late fees
will be applied to all delayedpayments (see Education Abroad Instructions & Policies).
**PLEASE NOTE: All Poland Summer 2016 Applicants must hand in the original application
along with 2 extra copies. In addition, all applicants need to fill out the accommodation form.
Program Description
The program, organized in cooperation with the Kosciuszko Foundation and offered at the
prestigious Jagiellonian University, includes intensive Polish language instruction in the
morning (available from beginner through advanced levels) and at least one of the afternoon
lectures. A second lecture may be added at no extra cost.
Students live in double occupancy rooms at Dom Studenta "Piast", 5 tram stops from the Old
Town. Meals are served three times a day in the cafeteria, located within walking distance
from both the dorm and the classes. Because of the World Youth Day taking place in
Krakow, this year the students will stay in Krakow for the first 3 weeks while for the final
week they will be moved to Szczawnica, a lovely mountain resort, known for its mineral
waters.

The classes will be complemented by guided tours of the Krakow's Old Town and the Wawel
Royal Castle, as well as by excursions to such places as Pieniny Mountains for a raft ride on
the Dunajec River, ski-resort town of Zakopane, Auschwitz Memorial, Wieliczka Salt Mines
or Pieskowa Skala Castle.
Full-time students of Polish descent, who are US citizens or permanent residents and who have
a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, may apply for the Tomaszkiewicz-Florio Scholarship.
These students have to provide the following: official transcript, financial form, 2 letters of
reference from professors, and a well reasoned essay (minimum 2 pages) on why they are
applying to the program, the reason for their choice of lecture classes and what it is that
fascinates them about Poland (the same essay can serve as the personal statement required for
the program application.) There is also a $35.00 Scholarship application fee. Checks need to be
made to "Kosciuszko Foundation". *The scholarship, if received, will be in the amount of
$1,620. The decisions will be made late May-early June.
