USC’s international business exchange program at the
Hebrew University Jerusalem School of Business Administration is designed to expose American students to Israeli life, culture and international business practices.
The program is located in Jerusalem, one of the oldest
cities in the world situated between the Mediterranean
Sea and the Dead Sea. Considered a holy city by three
different religions, Jerusalem is an historic, cultural and
political center. Hebrew University of Jerusalem is the
second-oldest university in Israel and is a highly-ranked
institution globally.
The program through Hebrew University offers a diverse
array of courses within the Jerusalem School of Business
Administration. For an overview of this program, visit

Student_Exchange. This exchange is limited to students majoring in International Business from the Moore
School of Business. As a prerequisite, students will have attained at least junior standing prior to attend.
Hebrew University– Jerusalem is a Language Category 1 exchange: there are no language proficiency requirements for this exchange program.
As of February 2015 Israel is on the Travel Warning List released by the U.S. State Department. Students interested in going on this exchange program will need to complete the Destination of Risk Petition Process.

Courses and Credits
Most courses at Hebrew University are worth 3 credits, and consist of 42 academic class hours– equivalent
to a 3 credit hour course at USC. Listed below are a few examples of subjects that have been offered.

Student_Exchange (Click on Courses & Registration). Students may take classes taught in English at the
School of Business, or courses in English through the Rothberg International School. However, courses
offered through the Rothberg International School are not included in the exchange, and may therefore
have additional cost.

Living Arrangements
Dormitory accommodation in the Student Village is available for exchange students as long as they request
housing by the deadline. Most rooms are single bedroom apartments with a shared kitchen and bathroom.

Visa

Budgeting
The New Israeli Shekel is the official currency of Israel. Students pay in-state tuition/fees to USC and housing
fees to Hebrew University. Hebrew University suggests the following cost of living estimates for the semester:
$75 for the student visa, approximately $600 per month for living expenses (includes food, entertainment,
transportation, telephone and other expenses ), and approximately $200-$300 for books and materials. Entertainment costs will vary by student.
Master Calendar
The Hebrew University academic calendar follows the semester system. Fall Semester begins mid October
and concludes at the end of December while Spring Semester begins mid February and concludes at the end
of May. USC international business students will attend during the spring semester of their junior year. More

Insurance
Per university policy, all USC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. The insurance is $180 per semester and the charge will appear on the student’s
USC bill. Contact the Study Abroad Office for more details. Students will be required to provide proof of
health insurance to Hebrew University.
Orientation
The School of Business Administration does not provide airport pick-up, but does provide guidance on transportation. Students will go to the School of Business office upon arrival, and staff will assist you in navigating
the campus and completing all arrival tasks.
Excursions
The Office of Student Activities organizes diverse programming for students to explore Israel and learn about
its people, culture, geography and politics. The campus also hosts the Lerner Sports Center, one of the most
modern sports facilities within Israel.
