Welcome to Pace!
School and College Advisers
We are excited that you will be joining our community for
the fall 2016 semester. Enclosed in this brochure is the
information you will need to get started at Pace University,
Westchester (Pleasantville). The first step you need to take
is to make an appointment with your academic adviser. Your
adviser is determined by the college or school in which your
major is housed. To the right, there is a list of college and school
advisers. If you are uncertain about who to contact, you should
call the Center for Academic Excellence at (914) 773-3434. It is
important that you meet with your adviser before Orientation
so that you can select and register for courses. At your first
meeting, your adviser will be able to answer any questions
you may have. During Orientation you will meet with your
adviser again to continue to develop one of the most important
relationships you will have at Pace University.

Orientation is scheduled for September 2, 2016. To sign up
for Orientation, follow the instructions at the end of the letter
that accompanied this brochure. As part of your Orientation
experience, if you have an F-1 or J-1 Visa, you must attend this
event, which includes a Mandatory International Student
Orientation where you will receive important instructions about
maintaining your student visa. This event will provide you with
the critical information about being an international student in
the United States. Above all, you will have the opportunity to
ask questions about the college experience so that you begin
the semester as prepared as possible for success.

Tuition
For information on tuition payments and payment deadlines,
please contact the Office of Student Assistance (OSA) at
(877) OSA-1830. Please note that in order for Pace University
to guarantee your schedule and housing assignment, you must
finalize your financial aid (if applicable) and make your tuition
payment by the deadline.
Financial Aid
If you have filed your 2016–2017 Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) form, you will receive notice that your
application has been processed. Upon receipt of this notice,
please review and make any necessary corrections. If you
have not yet filed your 2016–2017 FAFSA, you can file online
at www.fafsa.gov. Expect two to four weeks for processing.
Be sure it is signed by you and a parent if you were not born
before January 1, 1993. The school code for Pace Westchester
(Pleasantville) is 002792. Remember to include your expected
housing plans (with parents, on campus, etc.)
Note: The priority deadline for the 2017–2018 FAFSA is
November 15, 2016. You can file the 2017–2018 FAFSA
starting on October 1, 2016.
Transfer Credit Evaluation
If you are a transfer student, a Preliminary Transfer Credit
Evaluation was e-mailed to you shortly after receipt of your
acceptance packet. Courses completed at a regionally
accredited college or university and for which you earned
a grade of “C” or higher are eligible for transfer credit if they
satisfy coursework requirements for your major and degree.
Courses completed after admission will be considered for
credit upon submission of updated transcripts to the
Office of Undergraduate Admission.
A maximum of 96 credits may be transferred to Pace University
from a baccalaureate program from an accredited, four-year
institution. A maximum of 68 credits may be transferred from
a two-year institution. Additionally, at least 50 percent of the
credits required to complete a major at Pace must be earned
at Pace. Students who have not yet declared a major will have
their credits applied toward the University core curriculum
requirements. Credits toward free electives and major course
requirements will not be applied until a major is declared.
Course Evaluation
Please have your school send your final, official college
and high school transcripts to the Pace University Office
of Admission by August 1, 2016. Submission of all official
transcripts is required prior to registering for fall 2016 classes.
Please ensure that we have also received any AP or IB scores
by August 1, 2016.
High School Diploma Requirements
All enrolled students must possess a high school diploma or its
equivalent. Failure to submit documentation may jeopardize
your financial aid award and course registration. To satisfy this
requirement, a student may submit at least one of the following:
• Final secondary school transcript from an accredited
institution, indicating date of graduation
• Copy of secondary school diploma from an accredited
institution, indicating date of graduation
• Copy of state GED/high school equivalency diploma or test
scores, indicating date of issue
• Final transcript from an accredited, post-secondary institution
indicating proof of degree (i.e. associate, bachelor’s)
Individual courses that can be applied toward University
major requirements are evaluated by the chairperson of each
academic department. This evaluation process typically takes
two to three weeks. In some cases, course syllabi may be
requested. If so, it will be noted on the Preliminary Transfer
Credit Evaluation. You should provide these documents as soon
as possible to expedite the course evaluation process. Should
additional courses be accepted for credit, an updated Transfer
Credit Evaluation will be sent to you.
Students sometimes need to attend Orientation before their
Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation has been finalized.
This may be the case if Pace has not yet received the final
course grades for courses you are completing now or have
just recently completed, or if the Office of Undergraduate
Admission has asked you to submit additional information in
order to fully evaluate the transfer of credit to Pace. We ask
that you bring the following with you to Orientation:
• Unofficial copies of all transcripts from colleges
you have attended, with grades (if available)
• Course descriptions for any credits still pending
(as indicated on your Preliminary Transfer
Credit Evaluation)
• Advanced placement (AP) and/or International
Bacc (IB) scores
