Samoan Language Week
Talofa, Samoan Language Week starts on Sunday 24th May 2015 and this year the University of Waikato Library are
running a couple of competitions to celebrate and promote the language!
Competition One
Would you find a HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-One Wireless Printer
useful! Well here is your chance to win your very own! Simply

and upload a video of yourself saying...

To help with pronunciation, try using the below as a guide.
Phonetics: “Tah-Law-Far, Or Law-Eww E-Ngor-a or
..............................., Tore Far!”

on Monday 25th May 2015, on L2 of the Student Centre. You’ll find Dictionaries and other useful resources to help
you.
A winner will be selected! Whose name will be announced on the Library - University of Waikato Facebook page on
Friday 29th May 2015 at 12:00pm. So make sure you upload your video before 11:00am to be in with a chance! Ia

Competition Two: 4 Pics 1 Word
Does a $50 itunes card sound good to you? Well, here’s your chance to have
a crack at winning one! All you have to do is look at the images and, based on
the provided letters and spaces, guess the word. That’s right, it’s Samoan
Language, 4 Pics 1 Word!
To be in to win, you must place your entry into the box provided at the
Samoan Language Week display that will be available on Monday 25th May
2015, on L2 of the Student Centre. You’ll also find Dictionaries and other
useful resources to help you.
A draw will take place and the winner will be announced on the Library University of Waikato Facebook page on Friday 29th May 2015 at 12:00pm,
so make sure you get your entries in before 11am!
