Ready Reference 011113 How to Upload to Webpage.Pace.Edu Using FireFTP Introduction Pace students as well as student clubs/organizations can get their own personal (or organizational) Web space, which is accessible at http://webpage.pace.edu. This document contains instructions on using FireFTP (a Mozilla Firefox add-on) to upload files to the Web server. Note: Before using their individual Web space account, students must first activate it at http://webpage.pace.edu. The instructions below assume that the FireFTP add-on is already installed on the Mozilla Firefox browser. If it isn’t, you can download and install it from the Firefox browser top menu by clicking Tools, then Add-ons and searching for FireFTP. open Mozilla Firefox browser click Tools and select Web Developer click FireFTP To set up a FireFTP profile for webpage.pace.edu: click Create an account from FireFTP tab Note: If you already created a FireFTP account for webpage.pace.edu, skip to the section “connecting to webpage.pace.edu”. The Account Manager dialog box displays: select Main tab click in the Account Name field and type your preferred account name (optional) Note: If left blank, the Account Name field will populate with the contents of the Host field click in the Host field and type webpage.pace.edu click in the Login field and type your MyPace Portal Username click in the Password field and type your MyPace Portal Password select Connection tab click checkbox next to Passive Mode click in the Security field and select Auth TLS (Best) click in the Port field and type 21 click OK -2- Connecting to webpage.pace.edu: select account name (e.g. webpage.pace.edu) from dropdown menu click Connect Note: Upon successful connection, green text will display at the bottom of the screen and the Connect button will change to “Disconnect”. The left side of the screen will display contents of the C drive (C:\) and the right side of the screen will either display no content for new accounts, or any Web files previously uploaded to an existing Web server account. To upload/download files: On the C drive, locate and select the files you want to upload, or click Browse to navigate to a different drive (e.g. external USB drive) and select files. click right green arrow in the middle of the screen to upload files to the Web server Note: You can click the left green arrow to download (copy) files from the Web server to the computer, or you can right-click each file on the Web server and perform various tasks such as open, rename, delete, etc. To disconnect from FireFTP: click Disconnect -3-
