Professional Experience
2011-Present
Program Officer, The Foundation. Washington, DC
Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of crime prevention and mentoring
programs for high risk youth in 20 sites across the country. Work with program
staff in the field (grantees), the Foundation’s Vice President, and Foundation
program officers as well as outside consultants on evaluation design, instrument
development, data collection strategies, analysis and reporting. Conduct or
supervise testing, survey administration, focus groups and other data acquisition
efforts. Provide technical assistance to program subcontractors, elementary and
high schools, police departments and non-profit organizations. Develop and
sustain program quality.
Plan and supervise all activities and services that will guide police and program
staff in the areas under his/her responsibility toward a downward trend in crime,
through mentoring and community policing activities.

2008 – 2011
Graduate Research Specialist, Oriana House, Inc. Akron, Ohio
Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of crime rehabilitation and recidivism in 8
community correction and chemical dependency agencies within the State of
Ohio. Evaluate various prison rehabilitation programs and prepare outcome
(recidivism) studies using SPSS and SAS including statistical analysis of offender
records, graphing, charting, and report writing. Collect data for GPRA
(Government Performance and Results Act) as well as other quantitative and
qualitative data via face to face interviews and focus groups. Co-author and assist
with preparation of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed professional
journals. Participate in dissemination of research findings at conferences and other
professional events. Prepare client satisfaction surveys, maintain database,
summarize data, and run appropriate statistical analyses.
2006-2008
Lead Facilitator, Center for Families and Children, Cleveland, Ohio
Oversaw planning and development of the educational aspect of the Returning
Home Program; a prison reentry program. Facilitated educational sessions at
Northeast Pre-Release Center and halfway homes within Cuyahoga County.
Coordinated and oversaw Center for Families and Children's services in prison
with prison personnel as well as serve as primary liaison with Ohio’s Department
of Rehabilitation and Correction institutional staff. Trained CFC staff in
educational techniques. Designed and implemented curriculum aimed at
increasing community living and family life skills for offenders.
2005-2006
Case Manager, Cuyahoga Re-Entry Agency Inc. Cleveland, OH
Acted as liaison between Adult Parole Authority and Transitional Control
offenders. Conducted home investigations for eligibility of electronic monitoring
and offender home pass. Trained staff on investigative techniques. Investigated
all incident reports and completed violation hearing packets for non-compliant
offenders. Attended psychiatric evaluation and violation hearings and trained incoming staff on policy and procedures. Supervised case load of offenders to
ensure clients were compliant with Ohio’s Department of Rehabilitation and
Correction. Wrote case plans for each client to ensure individual criminogenic
needs were met.
