EXPERIENCE & EXPOSURE
BILLING OF EDUCATION
The month of September turned out to be a quiet period of this semester but not for the final years. It was
the most prominent time of their life. It was something they were looking forward to as an Engineer. People say that
Education can never get on terms with billing of its own. A true saying indeed but at least a gift of it on the lines of a
job is taken all in good taste .There were smiles all over the campus but anxiety and excitement were beating inside
their hearts. Few were seen with the core subject textbooks of budding years of Engineering, some had pages turning
of Aptitude and others were honing the talent of taming the HRMs. It was all done not for some sort of examinations
but for billing of their education. Organizations were pouring in to select someone to complete projects in their
companies. Rounds of interviews took place over a few days. Candidates stepped out of the panel with pulse of
unique emotions in their nerves. A good count walked down back home to give their share of happiness to relatives
and cherish them but few are still in the pipeline. Let’s modify the original saying and state that 'There is a hope of
light at the end of pipeline (originally its tunnel).' Companies are still there to come in so prepare with a positive
attitude to crack it and Good Luck!!!!!!!!

CORRUPTION
By: Revanth, 2/4 IT
Why is it the fact that India is lagging
behind in all aspects when compared to many
countries which are still smaller in size,
resources, population, etc?
Every question has only one answer:
CORUPTION (Black money)
Corruption starts from greed of making money
and ends with the miseries of people.
Simple example for this is PETROL.
In past one year petrol rates in India have rise
from Rs 50/lit to Rs 73/lit.
WHAT MAKES THE GOVENRMENT
INCREASE THE PETROL RATE SO HIGH IN
SUCH A SMALL PERIOD?
The biggest reason for this is BLACK MONEY.
Its a known fact that only middle class people in
India pay tax regularly. Most of the high class
people pay a part of it and remaining goes into
their pockets. For example some XYZ needs to
pay Rs 10 tax but he pays 2 and out of his
greediness he saves 8.Automatically there is a
loss of 8 rupees for the government. Now the
government needs to recover that money so the
only way for the government is to increase the
rates of the commodities like PETROL,
DIESEL,
VEGETABLES
(ONIONS,TOMATOES etc) ,etc.
A question to think of is Japan, the
country with no IRON ORE MINES, how come
it is the second largest producer of steel?
The answer for this is illegal exports of
iron ore from INDIA to JAPAN through least
cost sea ways. We have the resources but we
are in a situation that we are unable to use
them. Keeping the question of using it aside, we
are not even able to safeguard our mines from
illegal smuggling through sea ways. This is just
because of corruption. Many of the government
NOSTALGIA
officials are corrupted. They sell away
what belongs to our motherland to foreign
countries illegally. One of the places from where
this iron ore is exported is Obulapuram mines in
Karnataka which is a very big issue in the recent
past, nearly 1000 tons of iron ore is exported
illegally every day from Obulapuram mines but
no government official bothers about it because
they are corrupted.

If we look into the past from the first

to today's COMMON WEALTH GAMES
Scam of 40,000 crores the total black economy
scam piles up to
We all feel 'someone' needs to come to change
this society but we are forgetting the fact that
'someone' needs to come from us. That
'someone' is also a human.
If we bring back the whole black money:
We feel Gandhiji, Nehru all need to make a
rebirth to change and cure this society. But we
are least bothered about the fact that they all are
born already but are suppressed by the people
around them. They are suppressed because
everyone wants peace and security. They feel
Gandhi needs to take a birth again but not in
their house or their neighbor’s house or their

it may cause problems to them.
Rs.910, 603,234,300,000
This would make INDIA a super power

unemployment.
PETROL Rs.25/lit
DIESEL Rs.15/lit
All this is because of the feeling of
INSECURITY OF LIFE buried in us.
MILK Rs.8/lit

For this the realization has to come from within
OURSELVES. We need to safeguard our
motherland. We need to abolish corruption and
black money. For this we can use the print
media and the telecommunication media to show
the people how the tax paid by them is returning
to them some other way as projects like road, IT
parks, job opportunities etc.

OLIVEPAD – INDIA’s FIRST
iPAD
By: V. Rahul
Olive Telecom is India’s leading Convergence
Solutions Device Developer and is still building its
name in the Indian technology market. They first
brought in a series of mobile phones and then made a
splash with their 3G
supported X107H Zip
book. Now they have
announced their first
Android
powered
tablet/ slate device in
India.
While
even
Apple’s iPad has yet to make its official entry into
India, the OlivePad is ready and able. Equipped with
a 7-inch widescreen touch sensitive display
(capacitive), the OlivePad is a tad heavy but smaller
than the iPad. The display sports an 800 x 480 pixel
resolution with 65K colors. Viewing from any angle
is comfortable.
It also supports multi-touch. At 11.5 mm in
depth, it’s a slim device and can slip comfortably into
rear pockets.
A set of volume/zoom keys, a microSD and
SIM card slots are located on the top with stereo
speakers on either side. Just below the left speaker is
a screen lock/ power button. A 3.5 mm hands-free
socket is located at the bottom right beside the mini
USB port that doubles up as a charging port. The
OlivePad is a very large Android mobile, just like the
iPad is a large iPod Touch.
It comes preloaded with Android
2.1. From
features to settings and
navigation, the OlivePad behaves like a high-end
Android phone. It offers widgets to be dropped onto
multiple desktops and social networking integration
with the phonebook.
It’s equipped with a Qualcomm MSM7227
chipset with a 600 MHz processor, and the UI is
smooth but buggy sometimes. Thanks to the
large screen, typing is comfortable, and all the
goodies of the Android 2.1 engine are available.
When it comes to taking calls, you’ll need to
use a hands free kit. Although the two built-in
speakers are adequate for audio, the microphone’s
pick-up isn’t as strong. Incidentally, the iPad also
supports A2DP (Stereo Bluetooth) but it tends to
drain your battery.
Through the pre-loaded app DataViz, you
can create Word documents, make spreadsheets,
presentations. There’s also a PDF reader. Thanks to
the RSS reader, you can subscribe to RSS feeds
whenever you’re online, and then read them even if
you’re offline.
Standard mobile phone features like a
Calendar (syncs with your Google Calendar),
calculator, voice recorder, etc are also included.
NOSTALGIA
OLIVEPAD VS iPAD:
Though, Apple’s iPad has fared better than
most of its rivals, it may fall short of some of the
features of OlivePad. The key difference between the
two is that you can make calls on the OlivePad
VT100 and you can’t do that on the Apple iPad.
The iPad now runs on Apple’s iOS 3.2.1,
while OlivePad VT100 runs on Android 2.1 (Eclair)
operating system. The OlivePad VT100 runs Adobe
Flash. Another area where OlivePad scores over iPad
is that it has a 3-megapixel camera with 4x zoom and
a front facing camera, while iPad does not have any.
The display of Apple’s iPad is 9.7-inch and supports
multi touch.
It supports 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at
132 pixels per inch (ppi). OlivePad VT100 is meant
for making phone calls and hence the size is between
iPhone and iPad. It has the screen size of 7-inch and
has the screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
