Students Internships
A total of 30 students of BE 3/4 CSE were offered Internship
Program by eminent IT Industries.
9 internship program were offered by IIIT, Hyderabad which
includes the following list of students who have successfully
completed internship program held at IIIT, Gachibowli ,
Hyderabad. ( T. Sindhuja, G. Amani, B.Spurthi, T. Mounika Gupta,
Archana Ramini, K. Priyanka, T. Abhinav, P. Vaishampayan
Reddy , Ananya Mukherjee ).
5 Best Idea were selected by Progress Software Pvt. Lmt and
5 teams comprising of total 15 members were offered
internship program based on Innovative Ideas of the students.
Following is list comprising of ideas and team member working
on idea.
3 Internship programs were offered by Microsoft Private
Limited. The following are list of students who are presently
under going Internship Program at Microsoft, Campus
Gachibowli, Hyderabad( Manikanta , Divya, Nawaz).
2 Internship Programs were offered by NTPC, Hyderabad and
following are list students who have completed internship
Program ( P. Keerthi , G. Sindhuja).
1 Internship Program was offered by Google, India to Akash
Jaiswal and presently is undergoing internship program.
Campus Placement
As per the latest placement updates out of 202 eligible students of
BE 4/4 CSE 93 were succeeded to get placed in the following
eminent IT industry and major contributors of placements are the
following IT Industries.
55 students were offered placements by Cognizant.
46 students were offered placements by Wipro.
30 students were offered placements by Infosys.
14 students were offered placements by MindTree.
12 students were offered placements by iGATE.

CSI Student Chapter
A Guest Lecture on “Cloud Computing and its
Architecture” was delivered by Mr. Mohammad
Sakhavullah, Senior Analyst at HP, Hyderabad for the
target student audiences of 3/4 CSE held on Mar 13th ,
2013 under Computer Society of India (CSI) at Vasavi
College of Engineering. The main objectives of the lecture
were to acquaint the students audiences with the Cloud
Computing and components of cloud computing.
A seminar on various topics of Computer Science and
Technology were delivered by CSI Student Coordinators on
Feb 8th 2013 for B.E 1/4 CSE students in Seminar Hall,
Ramanujan Block, VCE. The objectives of the sessions were to
enlighten the students with the different subjects pertaining
to Computer Science & Engineering, to equip them with hands
on session on CPU Assembling & Windows 8 operating system
installation and to acquaint them with latest Technology
advancements.
Student Achievements
Arthisha Reddy, K.Sai Veena, M.Neha Reddy, P.Yamini Sai Lakshmi of BE 2/4 CSE B have
participated in Mock Shaastra Sampark-2013 (IIT-Madras Techfest) conducted at VCE College
Campus.
G. Divya has participated and won First Prize in Inter Departmental “Coding Contest”
organized by Department of Computer Science and Applications held during Mar 6th - 8th
,2013. A storage stick of 8GB was given as a token of appreciation.
K.Krishna of BE 3/4 CSE A and K.Raga Shalini of BE 2/4 CSE A have participated and won third
prize in Inter Departmental "Coding Contest " organized by Department of Computer Science
and Applications held during Mar 6th - 8th ,2013.
Ch Ravi Teja of 2/4 CSE A have participated and won 2nd prize in an event titled "Java
Genious" organized under Adastra 2k13 a technical fest held during Feb 23rd – 24th ,2013
organized at Srinidhi Institute of engineering College campus.

Aniruddh Purohit student of 3/4 CSE have participated and won cash prize worth Rs 2000 in
"Battle of Band'' organized under Convergence 2k13 a technical fest held on Mar 07th ,2013 at
VNR VJIT , Hyderabad.
Annaya Mukherjee student of 3/4 CSE B have participated and received a merit certificate for
successfully clearing 3 rounds in "Quiz" organized under Data addicts held on Feb 26th ,2013 at
CBIT college campus , Hyderabad.
P.Nikhil Reddy student of 3/4 CSE B have participated and received a merit certificate for
successfully clearing 3 rounds of Technical Quiz Competition organized under Data Addicts held
on Feb 26th ,2013 at CBIT college campus , Hyderabad.
Guest Lecture / Seminars
A Guest Lecture on “Data Mining” was delivered by,
K.Jagadamba, Principal Architect, Infosys, Hyderabad on Jan
3rd, 2013 for the students of M-Tech (CSE) I-Sem. The session
started off with the brief introduction to Data Mining and the
significance of Data Mining. The speaker has stressed more on
Data Mining applications in areas like Sales, Automobile
industry, weather prediction data etc.

A Guest Lecture on “Usability Engineering and Agile
Methodologies” was delivered by Dr Y.Raghu Reddy.
Associate Professor from IIIT, Hyderabad on Jan 30th,2013
for the target audience of M.Tech. (CSE) students. He
explained how software development moving from plan
driven methodology to agile Methodology. For the clear
understanding of Agile methodology speaker has
demonstrated a game using a set of balls and proved how
refinement of a process would help in obtaining optimized
results.
A seminar on “Windows 8 for Mobile App Development ” was dedelivered by Mr.Naga Kumar &
Mr. Aakash, Software Engineers (R&D) at Edukinect, on Feb 8th ,2013 for the target audience of
M.Tech I,II year CSE Students. Mr. Naga Kumar has started off the session by narrating the evolution
of mobile technology and its developments in the recent years. Speaker Mr. Aakash has taken up the
other part of the session and demonstrated a simple application using Visual Studio. He has
discussed step by step approach to develop an app for Windows 8.
A Guest lecture on “Software Testing Techniques” was delivered by Mr. G. Srinivas , Business
Analyst at Computer Science Corporation Private , Limited on Feb 20th, 2013 for the students
audience of M-Tech CSE. Speaker Mr. G. Srinivas with complete ease has narrated the importance of
Testing in software development process, gave a convincing distinction between Functional and
Structural Testing and also conveyed step by step approach to prepare Test Plan, Test Cases.
A Guest Lecture on “Artificial Intelligence
with a Special Emphasis on Hidden Markov
Models ” was delivered by Prof. C. Krishna
Mohan, CSE H.O.D ,IIT Hyderabad for the
students audience of M-Tech (CSE) 1st and 2nd
year on Feb 26th ,2013.

A Guest Lecture on “Advance Algorithms with
extra emphasis on Randomized Algorithm” was
delivered by Dr. Naveen Sivadasan, Department of
Computer Science & Engineering , IIT Hyderabad for
the students audience of M-Tech (CSE) on Mar
6th,2013 .
Alumni Activities
A Career Guidance session on ”what career option an
engineering individual can opt for after engineering
curriculum and how to decide a particular career
option in which one can excel with successful career”
was delivered by Mr. Raj Kumar Goel, Alumnus of 2010
passed out batch on Jan 30st ,2013 for the student
audiences of BE 2/4 CSE.
An Informative session on Career Guidance and pre
placement talk were delivered by Raj Kumar Goel and
Srinivas Sareen ,Alumnus of 2010 pass out for the students
of BE 3/4 CSE on Feb 26th, 2013. This particular session was
a follow up session delivered by Raj Kumar Goel conducted
on Jan 30th, 2013 for students of 2/4 CSE.
Acumen CSFest’13
For the present Academic Year 2013 we have
organized ACUMEN-CSFEST’13 with the same enthusiasm
and determination among the new set of student
coordinators, student volunteers and faculty coordinator
during Jan 28th- 29th,2013.

2nd National Level Conference on emerging & Innovative Trends
In Computer Science (NCEITCS-2013)
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering
organized 2nd National Level Conference on Emerging &
Innovative Trends in Computer Science( NCEITCS-2013)
during April 1st - 2nd ,2013 with the intension to bring out
awareness about the recent developments in computer
science and technology.
Around 237 papers were received from different states of
India, after intense scrutiny by the reviewing team from high
end educational institutions 50 Authors of the papers were
given an opportunity to present their research work and
experiments work with the motivation to contribute to the
extensive research being carried out in core areas of Data
Mining, Mobile Computing, Network Security ,Artificial
Intelligence, Image Processing, Information Retrieval and
Software Engineering.

Grid Scheduler for Mixed Tasks” at 3rd IEEE International Advance Computing Conference ( IACC-2013)
held during Feb 22nd - 23rd 2013 organized by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College , Ghaziabad, Uttar
Pradesh.

on “Oracle 11g Data base Administration” Engineering Staff College of India(ESCI) , Hyderabad
held during Jan 7th - 11th ,2013 Ms. Padmasri ,Corporate Trainer from ESCI ,Hyderabad was key
speaker of the of the program
