A total of 23 students of BE 4/4 CSE were offered Internship
Program by eminent IT Industries.

5 student of B.E 4/4 CSE A & B who were offered internship

CSI Student Chapter
Department of CSE have organized “Windows 8 App Contest 2013” in association with Microsoft Pvt , Ltd under CSI
student Chapter on Oct 07th,2013.
Apps Titled “Ping Pong Ultimate” Developed by Mr .
Ballari James was identified for the first best App.
App Titled “Pix Puzzle” Developed by G.Srikiran was
identified for the second best App.
App Titled “iExpense” Developed by Sri Harsha was
identified for Third Best App of the contest.
A Technical Quiz Competition was organized on Sept
13th, 2013 for all BE 2/4 , 3/4 , 4/4 CSE students and
students with the remarkable performances were
awarded with attractive Cash Prizes.
Student Achievements
On the occasion of Engineer’s Day Celebrations few
Technical events were organized in the Department of
CSE under CSI in order to inculcate the competitive
spirit among the budding engineers. Technical Essay
Writing Competition on “Windows 8 Vs Android Os”
was organized on Aug 22nd ,2013. A JAM (Just a Minute)
session was organized on Sept 12th,2013.
CSI-Student branch received 2 prestigious awards.
Ananya Mukharjee student of B.E 4/4 CSE was nominated for Highest Committed student
Branch Activist during the CSI 48th Annual Convention conducted at Hotel Novotel,Vizag on Dec
13th,2013.
27 Students of BE 3/4 CSE are selected for Mission R&D programme( 60 hours of
programme, students will be trained in the areas of C, C++, Data Structures and Software
product development application.
Chittaranjan Reddy Gutha, Navya Yenugant , Venkata Sai Sriharsha Sammeta students of B.E
3/4 CSE have participated in Infosys Aspirations Programming contest – State level and won
2nd prize in contest held at Infosys Development Centre, Hyderabad on Oct 17th ,2013
Sandeep & Shreyas Students of B.E 2/4 CSE have participated in Ekalavya Sports Tournament
organized by M.G.I.T Hyderabad during Oct 3rd - 5th , 2013.

K.Spoorthi & K.Raga Shalini of B.E III Year participated in the “Firefox OS AppDays Hackathon”
SNIST in which developers code for 24 hours. Their Firefox OS app “ Colour Splash” was awarded
as the First Best App.
A total of 131 students were certified as Microsoft Technology Associates.
James Ballari, Sai Madan Mohan Reddy P and Sravani.V of B.E. III year were selected in the First
round online programming contest conducted by ACM International collegiate programming
contest hosted by Amrita University
S. Kavya of B.E III Year ISEED’s Idea Champion for innovative business ideation at iCUBE-The
National Youth Idea Challenge 2013. She has been shortlisted among the top 500 participants in
iCUBE- National Youth Idea Challenge 2013.
S. Kavya of B.E III Year received Microsoft Azure Champion Certificate of Appreciation from
Microsoft in recognition for her passion and work towards successfully developing/ hosting
applications on Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform.
Two ideas were selected out of Five ideas presented in BITS Idea Carnival at TiE SmashUP -Early
stage startup enablers seminar held on Oct 09th,2013.
Mobile Application Idea “Smart Pic” submitted by Koka Raga Shalini, students of B.E. 3/4 CSE year
as part of CELKON-COIGN Innovative mobile application idea contest conducted across Andhra
Pradesh is selected as the best Idea among all the participants.

A Guest Lecture on “Software Testing and
Searching Algorithms” was delivered by Mr.
R. Mohan for the students of M.Tech, CSE on
20th Dec ’13 organized at PG - M.Tech lab J C
Bose block in the forenoon.
A Seminar on “”Mobility and its Impact”” was delivered by Mr. Jason D. Williams, IT Manager,
Microsoft, Hyderabad on Nov 22nd, 2013 for the student of M. Tech (CSE) I year, I Sem. The most
interesting part of the seminar was regarding an app developed by him titled as "WIFI IN THE
BUS" which is a big hit and now every organization have started adapting the “WIFI in their
Transport Facilities” for employee of their organization.
A Guest Lecture on “Introduction to BIG DATA and HADOOP” was delivered by, Mr. Ankam
Venkat , Big Data Architect , Cloudwick , Hyderabad on November 11th,2013 for the students of MTech (CSE) I -& III-Sem. The speaker is identified as well known industrialist and has more than
15 years of global professional career in the field of Information Management. The speaker has
stressed more on HADOOP by using Map Reduce frame work.
A Guest Lecture on “Markov Random Fields for Machine Learning-Applications in Image
Segmentation ” was delivered by Dr. Suryaprakash Kompalli , Applied Researcher, Microsoft,
Hyderabad, India for the students audience of M-Tech (CSE) 1st and 2nd year on Oct 21st ,2013.

A Guest Lecture on “Advances in Software
Engineering” was delivered by Mr. Vamsi Krishna .K.V
for the students of M.Tech (CSE) on Nov 1st ,2013. Mr.
Vamsi Krishna .K.V is Sr. Test Lead at Persistent
Software Pvt, Ltd and has more than 9 years of
experience in development and testing. Speaker has
emphasized on different agile models such as XP ,
SCRUM and also explained how they are using in
software development and why they are very much
popular now a days.
A Career Guidance Session was delivered by Mr. Prudvi Pathi Rao .K for the students of BE 4/4 CSE,
M.Tech 1st & 2nd year CSE on Oct 10th ,2013.
A Guest Lecture on “Insight into Relational Databases” was delivered by Mr. G. Venkata Rajesh,

Technical Specialist, IVY Comptech for the student audiences of BE 3/4 CSE on Sept 28 , 2013 in the
seminar Hall, Ramanujan Block . Speaker Mr. G. Venkata Rajesh has worked for 13 years in IT
Industry as Database Specialist. To add further to his credits he has trained numerous IT employees
and students in Data base Management.
A Guest Lecture on Mobile Application development” was delivered by Mr. M. Chandra Shekar Reddy,
Program Manager, TCS for the students of BE 3/4 CSE on Sept 23rd, 2013.New technology called
PhoneGap Framework, which is an open source framework for building cross platform mobile
applications with javaScript and how PhoneGapworks with its API’s were emphasized by speaker
during the lecture.
A Career Guidance Session was delivered by Mr.
Ravi Chandra Produtturi for the students of BE
3/4 CSE on Sept 21st ,2013. The objectives of the
session were to convey the action plan an ideal
engineering student has to follow, to convey what
crucial decisions are to be taken up by students for
an ideal career, how to prepare an effective
resume with effective cover letter and to convey
interview mannerism.
A 2 day Student Training Program on “Android “ was organized on under TEQIP –II for the student
audiences of BE 2/4 CSE on Sept 21th& 23rd , 2013 in CSE labs in College Campus. Mr. Rajini Kumar &
Mr. Sujith from CoignEdu& IT Services Pvt. Ltd have delivered the sessions collectively during student
training program. The objective of the training program was to acquaint the students with Android
Architecture Framework required to develop an Mobile Applications for Android Phones.
A Guest Lecture on “ Hadoop- Managing Big Data ”was delivered by Mr. A. Ashish, Lead, ERP
Operations, at TCS Hyderabad, Executive Committee Member at Swecha (NGO) and Mr. Pramod, Big
Data Architect, Cap Gemini, for student audiences of BE 3/4 CSE conducted on Sept 2nd, 2013.
A 2 day student Training Program on “Algorithms in C” was organized by CSE department for the
student audiences of BE 2/4 CSE on the following 6th& 11th Sept , 2013. Mr. Mohammed Shabbir & Mr.
Vijay Kumar were trainers from Web Cognize Softech Pvt. Ltd have delivered the sessions during the
STP.
A Student Training Program on “Big Data Analytics- Hadoop “ was organized under TEQIP-II on 3rd
Sept, 2013 for students audiences of 3/4 CSE.The training program was conducted in two sessions by P.
Kumar, Project Lead, Web cognize Soft tech Pvt. Ltd. The interesting part of the session being Zookeeper
Service which focus basically on high availability of information.

A Workshop on “MTA Certification 98-363 ” was organized by the Department of Computer Science &
Engineering, in association with Microsoft, Edu-Kinect, India for the students of B.E 3/4 CSE on July
17th, 2013 at Seminar Hall ,Ramanujan Block, VCE. Mr Naga Kumar, Software Engineer in R&D at
Microsoft, Edu- Kinect has handled the sessions during the workshop was in progress.
Boot Camp on “Microsoft Windows 8 store app development program” was started on 15th July, by the
Department of Computer Science & Engineering in association with Microsoft for the students of B.E
3/4 CSE at Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Sandeep,
Microsoft, Bengaluru.
4-day workshop on “Microsoft Windows 8 Store app development program” was organized by the
Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in association with Microsoft, Edu-Kinect, India for
the students of B.E 3/4 CSE at Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad during July 11th - 14th, 2013.
More than 130 students of BE 3/4 CSE took active participations during 4 day workshop. Mr. Naga
Kumar, Software Engineer in R&D and Mr. Prathap Reddy R&D Engineer at Microsoft, Edu- Kinect,
India have delivered the sessions during the workshop.
A Guest lecture on “Web Services” was delivered by Mr. Kalyan Chakravarthy , CEO & Co-Founder,
CPOY Software Services LLP., Hyderabad on Aug 24th ,2013 for the student audiences of M. Tech(CSE)
I year - II Sem.Step by step approach to develop WebService Application and its demonstration using
Eclipse IDE were done during the session.
A Guest Lecture on “Network Security” was
delivered by Mr. Aravind Uppu, Software
development Manager at IVY comptech, Hyderabad
for the students audiences of M.Tech (CSE) II Sem
on Aug 16th ,2013. Few activities like creationof
user accounts,user login, new card registration,
password reset and passwords retrieval were
demonstrated during the session.
A Guest Lecture on “Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Azure” was delivered by Mr. K. Naga Kumar,
Project Manager, EDUKINECT, Hyderabad for the student audiences of M.Tech (CSE) on Aug 07th,
2013.Microsoft SQL Azure Architecture which comprises of the Windows Azure runtime
environment, the local development environment and the two main services within the runtime
environment: Compute and Storage were discussed during the session.
A Guest Lecture on “Recent Trends in Interaction
Design” was delivery by Gokul Arvind Sagar, Project
Manager, Cognizant on 20th July, 2013 for student
audiences of M. Tech CSE. The guidelines a user interface
designer has to designer must follow while designing an
efficient user interface design for example Content first,
Simplicity of design, User experience centered design,
Unification, App style interface were discussed during the
session.
A Guest Lecture on “Image Processing and Defense
Applications” was delivered by Dr. Mayank Mishra ,
Scientist ,DRDL for the student audiences of M.Tech (CSE)

& BE 4/4 CSE on July 8 , 2013. The objective of the
session was to enlighten students with concepts of Image
processing, its defense applications and related areas.

Mission R&D programme
Written test for “Mission R & D Programme” was conducted by Mr. Perraju Bendapudi, Founder,
Mission R&D on Oct 10th ,2013 for Students of B.E 3/4 CSE.
Infosys Aspiration programming Contest 2013
College Level Infosys Aspirations Programming contest was organized by department of computer
science and engineering in association with Infosys Pvt,Lmt on Oct 7th,2013 for the students of BE 2/4,
3/4 and 4/4 CSE in Computer Centre, Ramanujan Block in the college campus.
Alumni activities
ALUMNI Meet was organized by Department of
Computer Science & Engineering and a total of 35
Alumni right from 1998 to 2013 batch have gathered
for Alumni Meet held on Dec 21st ,2013 and made the
event a most memorable by sharing their experiences
at college & career path taken by them after passing out
from college.

Technologies, Hyderabad has delivered a technical talk
on web applications for the students of M.Tech I & III
semesters students organized by department of
computer science and engineering on Nov 11th,2013.
Anusha Atluri Alumnus of 2013 passout batch and Business Analyst at CapitalIQ, Hyderabad has
delivered a career guidance for the students of B.E 1/4 CSE in the seminar Hall , Ramanujan Block on
Oct 29th,2013.
A Career Guidance Session was delivered by Mr. Raj Kumar for the students of BE 2/4 CSE on Sept
28th, 2013. Raj kumar is alumnus of 2010 passout batch and has done his M.Tech from IIT Madras. He
is presently working as Kernel Device Driver Programmer at NVIDIA Corp, Hyderabad.
A Motivational talk was delivered by Mr. M. Rahul Reddy, Mr. Ritesh Baradi, Ms.Preeti Lahoti, alumni of
2012 batch, presently working with Microsoft, India.The target audience was BE 4/4 CSE students. It
took place in seminar Hall ,Ramanaujan Block on September 15th, 2013.
Mr. Gajjala Nagaraju, Alumnus of 2005 passout batch and Business Lead , Broadridge Financial
Solutions have conducted a written test on Aug 30th,2013 for nominating the students of B.E 2/4
across all the branches for Saroja Rajanna scholarship.
Bhanu Kishore Kamapantula, Alumnus of 2008 pass out, PHD Scholar at Purdue Unviersity have taken
a step forward to offer final year project to B.E 4/4 CSE students and to identify the caliber of students
Mr.Bahu Kishore has come down to college campus on Aug 30th,2013 and conducted a written test for
Students of B.E 4/4 CSE in order to short list the students for final year project.
Abhiram Bharadwaj, Alumnus of 2010 pass out & Senior Tech Consultant at Infosys Hyderabad
campus and Raj Kumar Goel, Alumnus of 2010 pass out & Project Engineer at Wipro Hyderabad
campus have jointly came forward to select the students of B.E 4/4 CSE for final year project.
An internship drive was conducted by Hasan Ali Khan, Alumnus of CSE 2009 batch and Vaishali
Neotia, Alumnus of EEE 2009 batch for the students of BE 3/4, BE 4/4 (CSE) and M.Tech 1st year
(CSE) on July 31st, 2013 at Computer Centre, Ramanujan Block, VCE.
A Technical talk on "Mobile Solutions in Sports Stadiums and Photogrammetry in Business
Applications" was delivered by Mr. Srinivas Kapaganty, Alumnus of 88 batch for the student
audiences of 4/4 CSE on July 23rd , 2013 in Seminar Hall, Ramanujan Block.

Dr. T. Adilakshmi Prof & HOD CSE Dept has attended a workshop on "edX blended model
Implementation" organized by BITS Hyderabad on Dec 23rd ,2013 . Mr. Ajay Jain IAS Commissioner,
Technical Education Prof. B.N Jain Vice chancellor BITS Pilani Dr. P.K Mohanthy IAS Chief Secretary to
Govt. Andhra Pradesh were the most well known personalities to address the gathering at one day
workshop.

Accreditation” Phase - IIWorkshop held during 19th – 21st Jul , 2013 which has beenorganized
