A Report on Guest Lecture by K.Jagadamba on “Data Mining”

A Guest Lecture on “Data Mining”
was delivered by, K.Jagadamba, Principal
Architect, Infosys, Hyderabad on Jan 3rd,
2013 for the students of M-Tech (CSE) ISem.
The objective of the session was to
make the students understand the
applicability of Data Mining concepts and
techniques in solving real world
problems.
The session started off with the
brief introduction to Data Mining and the
significance of Data Mining.
The speaker has stressed more on
Data Mining applications in areas like
Sales, Automobile industry, weather
prediction data etc.
The speaker has been identified as
well known industrialist and has worked
on various research areas which includes
database systems ,distributed Databases,
Data Mining , e .commerce etc.
The session continued with the
discussion of the techniques such as
Classification, Clustering and Association
Rule Mining used in Data Mining.
The session concluded with
various real world applications for Data
Mining and the research perspectives in
the
area
of
Data
Mining.
