A Seminar on “Advances in
DistributedComputing”wasdeliveredbyMr.
DigambarPowar,arenownedFacultyofBITS
Hyderabad on Mar 14th ,2013 for the student
audiencesofM.Tech(CSE).
The main objective of the seminar was
to convey the importance of Distributed File
SystemscurrentlyusedtodevelopDistributed
Applications.

designedandexecutedtoshowhowitactually
works.
The later part of the session he took a
case study for which a Web Services
Application was programmed to meet the

case study. He also gave details regarding the
SOAArchitecture.
Studentswereoverwhelmedtowitness
the demonstration of a Web Services
ApplicationusingEclipseIDEandstepbystep
approach to develop an Application. The
speakerconcludedthesessionbyencouraging
students to develop distributed applications
andopensourceprojects.
