A Report on Google Map Maker Tool by Akash Jaiswal conducted on Feb 21st,2013
A seminar on “Google Map Maker Tool”
was delivered by Akash Jaiswal, Google Student
Ambassador , student of BE 3/4 CSE B on Feb 21st,
2013 for the students of BE 1/4 CSE conducted
under ACES Activities.
The objectives of seminar were to convey the
steps to edit the GOOGLE MAPS using Google Map
Maker Tool and to encourage the students to
participate in “MAPATHON-2013” first time ever
national level competition organized by Google
Private Limited.
Mr. Akash Jaiswal started off seminar by
sharing a video with student audiences describing
updates taking place in World Map with extra
information being added through Google Map Maker
Tool .
It was also intimated that in order to
add/edit Google Maps an individual must have gmail
account and edits to Maps would be incorporated
after getting reviewed.The account holder with
maximum edits with reliable information would be
rewarded with attractive prizes by GOOGLE.
Speaker concluded
the session
by
encouraging students to participate in “MAPATHON2013” which started on Feb 15th, 2013 and to be
continued till Mar 25th,2013. He has also commented
that such achievements would really add extra
weight age to the students resume during
placements.
After a video session a detailed session on
Google Map Maker Tool involving step by step
approach to add/edit the places / restaurants /
hospitals / temples / colleges / school or any
physical set up with related information to the
existing Google Maps.
