A Report on “Career Guidance Session “ by Mr. Ravi Chandra Conducted on Sept

A Career Guidance Session was
delivered by Mr. Ravi Chandra Produtturi for
the students of BE 3/4 CSE on Sept 21st ,2013.
Mr. Ravi Chandra graduated from IIIT,
Hyderabad and M.S from The Duke University.
He is presently working as Business Analyst at
Orbitz Solutions, USA.
The objectives of the session were

To convey the action plan an ideal
engineering student has to follow.
To convey what crucial decisions are to
be taken up by students for an ideal
career.
How to prepare an effective resume &
cover letter.
To convey interview mannerism.
Mr. Ravi Chandra started off the session
by narrating his journey right from schooling
to being employed by orbitz solutions and
what crucial decisions has been taken at right
time in his career.
Later speaker moved on with the
discussion in regard to the technical skills ,
soft skills , behavior, managerial and
competency skills required for getting
through the interview process.
Mr. Ravi Chandra has shared that 3rd &
4th year is most crucial period for budding
engineer & career decisions should done
taken by into account the interests of an
engineering student individual.
Do’s and Don’ts were discussed in
detail for effective & flaw less resume and
attractive cover letter.
Speaker has advised students to
browse the profile of company and recent
news about the company prior to interview
drive.
Speaker has also shared few frequently asked
questions and advised students to prepare
convincing answer to those questions.
Speaker has concluded session by
sharing his e-mail details with the students.
