A Report on Inter College “Online Programming Contest” conducted on Jan
4th, 2014.

Department of Computer Science and
Engineering have organized an Inter College
“Online Programming Contest” in association
with Computer Society of India(CSI) and under
Student Chapter on Jan 4th, 2014 at CSE Labs ,
Ramanujan Block, in Vavasi College campus.
The objectives behind organizing Inter
College Online programming Contest were
following

To inculcate the spirit of competitiveness
among the future Engineers
To help the students in identifying the
areas of improvements needed
To instill the Team’s Management skills
while working towards common goals.
identify the team having the three properties of
the bidding engineer such as sound technical
skills and strong basic back ground and rapid
decision making skills for the tricky questions
were included in each round of scrutiny to
identify the young Gems of programming.
Online
Programming
Contest
was
organized by the team of students of B.E 3/4
and 4/4 CSE. The programming contest
questionnaires were prepared taking the
placement point of view into consideration.
The students of Vasavi College of
Engineering have bagged 1st prize and students
of Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology
have bagged 2nd prize.
The online programming contest has
witnessed Remarkable number of registrations.
A total of 303 students have participated under
Online Programming Contest and the contest
took place in 3 different technical rounds to
As per the feedback received from the
programming participants, they felt the online
programming contest questions to be quite
challenging and have help them in experiencing
the pressure which they would under when a
student has to undergo the online technical test
when placements are in place.
