Undergraduate Senior Thesis: "The Informal Economy in Dhaka, Bangladesh: An Enquiry into the
Structural and Theoretical Implications of Informal Markets."
 Conducted field work in Dhaka, Bangladesh via surveys and interviews of 100 informal workers:
street vendors and public transportation employees
 Collected ethnographic data on the Dhaka city informal economy
 Defined the informal market and its role in economic sociology
 Researched prior studies and theories of social behavior in the market and present them over a
series of chapters
 Gave a detailed description of the demographic background, worker groups, and class
stratifications of the case study
 Presented the various methodologies undertaken in the social experiment and account for external
influences on the collected data
 Analyzed both the qualitative data and quantitative data to connect to previous theories
