OPTRA announced the release of a low cost Risley Prism Development Kit.

TOPSFIELD, Mass., August 21, 2015 — A Risley prism beamsteering development kit is being
offered to experimenters and system designers interested in assessing the utility of this
beamsteering technology at an affordable price with near off-the-shelf delivery times. The
development kit includes a 20 mm clear aperture Risley prism assembly (RPA), control
electronics, and operating software. Performance parameters of the development kit are
representative of the characteristics of the higher-performance RPA products available from
OPTRA. RPA beamsteering pointers and scanners feature an in-line configuration, compact
size, low power, and wide field steering angles ideal for free-space optical communication,
LIDAR/LADAR systems, laser machining, and passive imaging from small platforms.
