Annual YES Events
Our first annual YES events took place in June 2011. This new event is a special
informal celebration, attended by the President, for all employees who were
recognized through the YES employee recognition program during the calendar
year. Going forward, the annual YES Event will take place in the winter. It will be
held for all YES recipients from the previous calendar year, including student

Staff Share Their Comments and Appreciation:
“I wanted to congratulate you on putting together
such an outstanding program. It was the best award
ceremony I have been to in my time at Pace. The
energy and excitement in the room was infectious!
Awesome job and thank you for such a well thought

spend time with your colleagues, enjoy refreshments, and play games to win prizes.
Everyone will receive a gift! Student-designed bookmarks will be available to
purchase in support of the Student Textbook Scholarship Program. Read more
details below!
Student Textbook Scholarship Award
HR created a new scholarship fund to provide an annual textbook scholarship to a
YES award-winning student worker. The fund is being established with proceeds
raised from selling student-designed bookmarks at faculty and staff events and/or
contributions from parties with an interest in providing textbook assistance to student
workers. Every winter, one annual scholarship will be awarded to a YES awardwinning student worker at the YES event.

30-Day New Hire
Follow-Up
In November 2010, Employee & Labor
Relations launched the “30-Day New Hire
Follow-Up” initiative. This well-received
initiative was developed to enhance the
support and communications between
Employee & Labor Relations and new
hires by enriching the on-boarding
process, increasing employee
engagement and making the period of
adjustment a positive experience. The
goal of the “30-Day New Hire Follow-Up”
is to ensure that all new hires are
receiving the proper tools to be successful
performance from all four of the following categories:
 Service ethic: provides outstanding customer service.
 Teamwork: offers support, assistance and
encouragement to co-workers.
 Accountability: uses clear metrics to evaluate and
strengthen services.
 Results oriented: makes outcomes an essential
component of his/her department.
Check the HR website for future announcements! Awards Nomination Database will be open in
early November!
