Student Textbook Scholarship Award
HR created a new scholarship fund to provide an annual textbook scholarship to a YES award-winning
student worker. The fund is being established with proceeds raised from selling student-designed
bookmarks at faculty and staff events and/or contributions from parties with an interest in providing
textbook assistance to student workers. Each year, an annual scholarship will be awarded to a YES
award-winning student worker at the Employee Recognition Award Ceremonies.
---------------------
The student worker winner of the Student Textbook Scholarship is… Shannon
Blankschen -Student Assistant in Student Activities and Campus Development!
“Shannon has spent her entire freshman year working in the SDCA office and in her own quiet way has
managed to help students to the very best of her ability. She has shown initiative with working with family
members that are preparing to part with their students and without any training on our normal responses
to Orientation related questions she managed to talk a father down from a very nervous state, and by the
end of their 25 minute conversation the parent was excited to have her attend Pace because of
Shannon. This year would not have been the same without Shannon working with us in SDCA.”
(Nominated by Caitlin Kirschbaum, Coordinator SDCA)
