Roommate Groups
are a great way
for you to sign up
with your friends
–
or just one
roommate for the
other half of your
room!
You can choose
your roommate(s)
online via
MyHousing
starting as soon as
you have filled out
your online
application.
There are many
important
considerations you
must think about
when choosing
and mutually
accepting
roommates . . .

Roommate Requesting Process
Everyone in your group must
mutually select each other via
MyHousing.
You must finalize all roommate
selections prior to the earliest
selection for which your roommate
group is eligible.
Once everyone is matched up in your
group, whichever roommate has the
earliest selection time can sign
everyone up!
Make sure you trust your
roommates with your assignment!
Your myPace Portal username
is normally the first letter
of your first name followed by the
First letter of your last name and several
numbers.
To look up your username,
go to the White Pages
and use the search function.
Your username is the text in front of the
@ in your email address.
When you apply for housing, you MUST submit:
1 – Housing Deposit (pre-payment for Fall)
2 – Online Application – Apply Online
3 – Housing Agreement Terms and Conditions
If any of these items are missing or incomplete,
you will not be added into Roommate Selection
or any Room Selection Process.
Your friends might be able to add you as a
roommate, but your status will read Student
Ineligible.
When you click on “Apply On Line” . . .
You will be asked to accept the Terms and
Conditions of the Housing Agreement before
continuing in the process.
Make sure you read and understand the Terms
and Conditions. Your online agreement to these
Terms and Conditions is legally binding.

When you have completed the online
application, you will see this screen. Now
you can log in MyHousing.
After you sign into the MyHousing site,
this is your Home / Overview screen . . .
This box has your Room
Selection, including

To set up your roommate group,
go to the Room Selection menu and
click Roommate Selection

Search for your roommate(s) here.
If your roommate(s) do not currently
live on campus or have paid their
housing deposit, you will not be able to
add them.

If you are making roommate requests
before your friends, you will see that
your request is unmatched until that
request is confirmed.
If you have a pending request, you
will be able to Decline or Confirm
here.

When you Add, Delete, Confirm or
Decline a Roommate Request, the
student will receive a notice
on their Pace e-mail.

matches within your group.
You stay in control!
No guessing if the other
roommates did their part!

If you want to “Remind” your friend
that you have a pending request,
just click the “Remind” button and
they will receive an email reminder.

Remember:
Each roommate
received an email
notification when you
first added them so only
use this as a reminder
later on.
This is your goal – a
fully matched roommate
group!

fully matched before
you can choose a room!

The roommate

EARLIEST
SELECTION TIME
can place all
roommates
within a room or
suite.
Make sure your
group has
decided on a
plan! Once a
room has been
selected by a
roommate group,
you cannot
change your room
until the Last
Chance Selection

On MyHousing Overview, you can monitor your
roommate group . If one of your roommates picks a
room without you, you’ll see it here as well as on
your
Roommate Selection page.

You’re done! That’s it!
Once your roommate group is fully matched, just wait for your
Room Selection process.
REMEMBER: THE ROOMMATE WITH THE EARLIEST SELECTION TIME CAN
PLACE ALL ROOMMATES WITHIN A ROOM.
Make sure your group has agreed on a plan and backup plans!
TRY TO BE TOGETHER (IE - IN THE SAME ROOM) WHEN THE ROOMMATE
WITH THE EARLIEST SELECTION TIME CHOOSES HOUSING FOR THE
GROUP!
There are no room changes until the Last Change Selection
Day. During the last chance selection, each roommate must
complete their own room change, you can’t pull roommates in.
