Bachelor of Education in Exercise Science
Program Checklist
LCCC student has earned at least a 2.5 overall grade point average on a 4.0-point scale. Students
must receive a “C” or better in all courses that are required for this degree.
Submit a University of Akron undergraduate application form, making sure it is marked "LCCC
CAMPUS." Include a $40 application fee. This is a one-time fee. If you have previously paid this
fee, you do not need to pay again. The University of Akron undergraduate application forms are
available in The University of Akron office in the University Center building (UC 116).
Once a student is accepted to UA, all students must successfully complete the following
coursework prior to admission into the Exercise Science program
Written and Oral Communications—at least 10 credits
3300:111 English Composition 1 (4) or LCCC ENGL 161 (3)
3300:112 English Composition II (3) or LCCC ENGL 162 (3)
7600:106 Intro to Public Speaking (or 106) or LCCC CMMC 151 (3)
Social Science—6 credits minimum
3750:100 Intro to Psychology (3) or LCCC PSYH 151 (3)
3850:100 Intro to Sociology (4) or LCCC SOCY 151 (3)
Mathematics—3 credits
3450 or LCCC Select one course from MTHM 151-283 or MTHM 121-122
Technical Mathematics I & II (must have both)
1 Natural Science—minimum 8 credits
LCCC Students must complete 8 credits from at least two of the following areas:
Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Physical Science or ASTY 151 (4) (One
course must have a laboratory component.) * DO NOT meet natural science
requirements: BIOG 153, BIOG 268 or CHMY 100
(Current general studies transfer and articulation agreement between the UA and LCCC
are posted on the UA web page at the University College’s Transfer Services website
(http://www.uakron.edu/colleges/univcoll/transfer.php)
PE Requirement—1 credit
Completion of the one credit of the following courses are transferable to UA
PEDF/PEFT/PESP 151-186 (1) - BIOG 153 Human Nutri. (3) - DANC 151-172 (2)
DANC 185 Dance Performance (1) - HLED 151 Personal Health (2) HLED 153 First Aid
& Saf.(2) - HLED 154 CPR (1) – HLED 156 Health & Well (2)
Once the above course requirements are completed, student is eligible to apply to the College of
Education admission application, additional requirements for admittance into the COE and

After student is admitted to UA College of Education, make appointment with assigned advisor
and sign UA program plan (this can be done in a face to face meeting or Skype).
