Installing Kurzweil 3000 Web License

1. Navigate to the Kurzweil 3000 Windows download website, http://www.kurzweiledu.com/k3win.
2. Select the link labeled Kurzweil 3000 Version 15 (web license). Do not select the standalone or network version.
3. Save the download to your desktop or folder of your choice.
4. Run the downloaded installation file.
5. If you receive this warning, select Run and proceed with the installation.

6. Select Install Web Licensing Software.
7. The Kurzweil 3000 v.15 InstallShield Wizard will begin. Select Next.
8. Select the option button next to the ‘I accept the terms of the license agreement’ and Next. You can keep the Default
User Name, select Next.
9. Select Complete as setup type and Next. The program is ready to be installed. Select Install.

10. Once the installation is complete, select Finish & choose No to restart your computer.
11. After you have installed Kurzweil, navigate back to the website, http://www.kurzweiledu.com/k3win, and
download the North and South American Voices.
12. Restart your computer.
13. The Kurzweil 3000 program icon
will be on your desktop so double-click to open the program.
You will be asked to log in with your username and password. Students will receive their username and
password at their initial alternative format training. If you have completed the training and do not have a
username and password or are unsure of your username and password, please contact the Office of
Accessibility at (330) 972-7928 or [email protected].
You will also notice two Kurzweil folders are showing up on your desktop. These folders are necessary for
exporting your Kurzweil 3000 files into an audio file or MP3. If you are interested in learning how to make
MP3s, please contact the Office of Accessibility for specific training. If you do not plan to create audio files, it is
ok to delete these two folders from your desktop.
